I have been on 22.5 mg and felt fine, but i'm now on 15mg...and earlier i was on 45mg which was far to high and iit made me feel like a zombie , the main gripe i have with it is the weight gain for I've put on at least 2 stone.
I’ve recently come off Mirtazapine. For a number of years, in agreement with my GP I have fluctuated between 30mg and 45mg. 30mg which I continually took, increased to 45mg when I was in a bad way then going back to 30mg when things improved. In October this year my GP and I wondered if I had become too accustomed to 30/45mg and thus irs efficacy was reduced. I changed to 15mg Mirtazapine in the morning and added in 75mg Venlafaxine at night. In November a psychiatrist took me completely off Mirtazapine but kept the venlafaxine. She is monitoring this with a view to introducing lithium if needed. I’m holding off on lithium as long as possible.
I have slowly moved up to 45 mg, and the increase helped me each time. But responses are very individualized, and you may respond differently now than you did years ago. I would definitely try it and see! The main concern is sleepiness (and weight gain for some), so be sure you are taking it at night. Good luck and best wishes.
Thank you, yes I always take it at night. Been on 15mg for 5 years with a few hiccups along the way. I took 22.5 last night so I'll keep everything crossed
