Hi guys, I have a thyroid ultrasound-guided biopsy in a few days and have no idea what to expect. Can anybody shed light on the procedure?
For example, is it painful, do you get numbed, is it quick, etc? Thank you in advance. For context, I had a blood test done a few months back which showed significantly elevated TPO antibodies, and had TSH levels tested too. I went to the urgent care clinic at my normal doctors surgery as I noticed

Well 2 years in I am down to 2.7 and I have to say I feel a lot better. Now on 75 dose levo. Very recent Blood test absolutely fine for B/zinc/copper/iron/ferritin/D so have done what I can in these departments. The annual free blood test only covers TSH and total free T4 (very top of range) and I

My NHS GP says that he can only order a TSH test. I used to get free T3 and T4 done regularly as well. Has anyone else had this problem?
My GP surgery has always been willing to carry out all three tests and my TPO antibody test. They now say I have to pay privately or see an endocrinologist. I assume this is another cutback to save money. I have just started to use Metavive Pro [60 mg porcine] and will need to check my hormone levels

Weird?
So I recently posted how pleased I was with my results from medichecks. They were better than I’ve ever had before. So I visit GP for joint swelling, pain, bone pain etc. She starts me on HRT and says I’d just like to check your thyroid again as it’s been chaotic in the last few years. I say it’s ok

Patience when waiting on blood results - how?! :)
Hey, anyone else so impatient when waiting for blood results? I have them done privately each time in Ireland, at a clinic, they should take a day or two, on day three I get unbelievably impatient :) I wonder why we cannot get the same service as in other countries. In Poland, you can go for private

Update on my frustrations with my Doctor
Below is part of my original post: In December after previous higher readings where no action was taken by my GP as I was told I was "borderline" my readings were: TSH 5.2 ref range (0.2-4.0) Serum free T4 14.3 (10-20) TPO 1300 (<100) I finally had a doctor ring me to say I must go on Levo as I had subclinical

Thyroid blood test results, advice please.
Hi. I have these thyroid blood test results for my wife. She is 31 and she was diagnosed overtly hypothyroid in 2011. She has never felt well on any dose and has been on as much as 175mcg Levothyroxine. Following a sudden and unexplained reduction in her dosage of Levothyroxine from 150mcg to 25mcg
