I only found out i had tpo antibodies with a private test. Apparently i must have hashimotos with tpo of 62. Ive never had a scan for nodules or anything and dont you get autoimmune treatment and advice from nhs

Hashi's isn't treated, it's the resulting hypothyroidism that is treated and you are on Levothyroxine according to a previous thread. Most doctors attach no importance to raised antibodies.

What are your current results for:

TSH

FT4

FT3

Can you please post them with their refrence ranges (eg: TSH 2.5 [0.2-4.2] ) and what dose of Levo are you taking?

As Hashi's can cause low nutrient levels or deficiencies, it's essential to test:

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

Post results with ranges and units of measurement for Vit D and B12 for comment.

Some members have found that adopting a strict gluten free diet can help where Hashi's is present, although there is no guarantee.

Gluten contains gliadin (a protein) which is thought to trigger autoimmune attacks so eliminating gluten can help reduce these attacks.

You don't need to be gluten sensitive or have Coeliac disease for a gluten free diet to help.

Supplementing with selenium l-selenomethionine 200mcg daily can also help reduce the antibodies, as can keeping TSH suppressed.

good ,very good which is why im wary of this iodine splurge
