CKD 2 eating one preferred meal every 1-2 weeks.
Some of you have read and shared your input on my last post "
CKD
2 and relationship" and I cannot thank everyone enough for their time. My partner and I had a long talk one where we both acknowledged there was compassion fatigue.

GFR Below 60
My GP informed me last week that it had dropped to 58 which puts me in the Stage 3
CKD
category. He suggested it was time I thought about taking statins. Thing is, I always thought statins were for high cholesterol which I didn't have when last tested.

Comprehensive CKD and healthy Diet app
I tried using it for two weeks before I started learning about
CKD
foods which has taken me months of research every day. Weight watchers used to have a great app with a robust database of foods with calorie, fats, carbohydrates, etc. the NKF has one that tracks the 3 related to

RA and Chronic Kidney Disease medication?
He has
CKD
and has been without any medication for his RA for some time. He decided to ask his RA consultant if there was anything he could take as his quality of life is zero at the moment.

caregiver for family member
She has had
CKD
for 20+ years, along with diabetes, HTN, and arthritis. I was looking for community online support because sometimes we feel information overloaded. She has been suffering from severe itching, and nothing seems to help.

CKD 2 at 27- question on proactive approach and other people's experiences
Hi there! This group has helped me a lot mentally and given me confidence. I've been wondering about if I'm doing enough for my health to manage this condition. My nephrologist says he isn't concerned about progression but I still want to stay on top of things. What else should I do? What tips does everyone

Vegan diet?
I'm sort of taking for granted not all dieticians are well-versed in
ckd
nutrition. Besides that I do have one question ... why does my back hurt sometimes and not others... is it a warning of something happening. Many thanks for any responses. I've learned a lot from this forum already.

Very Promising Med for CKD!
This would be an enormous advantage for kidney patients that may eliminate dialysis. Hope this becomes a prescribed medication soon!

My husband, 67, was just diagnosed with stage 4
CKD
after 5 days in hospital due to uncontrolled blood pressure. Due to prostate putting pressure on kidneys. He has plans with a urologist to address this and I will be calling the nephrologist in the morning.

Hi, I am in my begin stage of learning about
ckd
. I have lee hull's book and bought some Acacia gum powder, it a powder mixed with 8 oz of water in a blender every day. This is my 1st week getting used to it so I started with 1 tea spoon per 8 oz. I do not argue with people and I am polite.

Can taking Sinemet when not needed cause PSP-like symptoms?
She had been suffering many of the usual aging problems,
CKD
, obesity, hypertension etc and also a left hand tremor. During her stay she was treated for a UTI , and given lots of tests and also suffered Delerium. She was given her 'routine' medication, Sinemet, for her Parkinson's Disease?
