I wish there was more information about stem cell therapy! I've heard of those with diabetes (Type 2) benefitting from it! And possibly others with autoimmune conditions. I truly hope you run across centers than can help you. If you do, please keep us updated! This is one area that no one really talks about. I think it has great potential.
Clinical Trials can be found. The International Society of Stem Cell Research.
National Kidney Foundation has a list of Clinical Trials.
The FDA has yet to approve treatment for Kidney Disease that use stem cells.
I have also found a Nephrologists who made a speech to other Nephrologists and you can find him on YouTube. Dr. Sean Hashmi, he is making a lot of sense to me.
The old way has not been working. The Clinical Trials they are conducting are showing a sigh of turning things around and keeping people off of dialysis. This is what I want. I don't choose to be on dialysis.
Thank you...these are nice resources! Yes, do anything you can to keep diabetes from destroying yourself. I watched my hubby go through dialysis and transplant and more. He's now in his 70s and he likely won't qualify because of his transplant and age. But it would have been amazing if stem cell therapy had been available to him prior to all of that. I'm watching our adult children now and if any of them become diabetic, I will most certainly direct them to this option. In some countries, like Canada, it's apparently quite available and not expensive unlike here. It's frustrating how we have to search for advances and advocate for ourselves - the initiative is completely on us. Wishing you all the success in the world in keeping yourself healthy and out of "the centers". If you manage to get stem cell therapy for yourself, please keep me/us updated! I'm certain many of us would want to follow your steps and outcomes. I'm also wishing you Happy Holidays and a wonderful, and perhaps transformative, New Year!
Please do that. I first heard about it a couple of years ago from a man in New York who advised that he regretted not dealing with his diabetes at the outset with stem cell therapy. He also went into dialysis, had a transplant, lost his transplant, and was back in dialysis - all due to diabetes. I'm thankful he brought it up.
