body pain

My husband, 67, was just diagnosed with stage 4 CKD after 5 days in hospital due to uncontrolled blood pressure. Due to prostate putting pressure on kidneys. He has plans with a urologist to address this and I will be calling the nephrologist in the morning. My questions are:

He has pain a lot in his feet and sometimes whole body, is this normal?

He sleeps a lot. Is this normal?

I read different things, but wanted to ask those who have the disease. Thanks.

Sadly the symptoms of having a decreased kidney function is that you can get more tired and sleeping more and muscle pain. But it doesn't affect everyone the same way. You can also have Nausea as well with this. Hope your doctor can help him get his blood pressure down and help. Brian

These are questions that are best answered by his doctors. His symptoms could be a result from a lot of various medical issues. Hoping he get some answers soon. Sorry he's going through all this

There's an autoimmune disease that I have called Wegener's or GPA. It is usually ANCA associated. ANCA is a blood test that should be done to check for this. It's fairly rare and a lot of times goes unnoticed by doctors. Press hard to have this checked. It's vitally important. Read about it and you will learn some of the symptoms that come with it.

I am stage 4 and have severe bouts of muscle pain all over and I also sleep a lot. Just can't seem to find energy, even after sleeping. I get up early and push through whatever I must get done that day before I wear out. 8hr tylenol for arthritis helps, it's a higher dose than regular tylenol, so please check with your doctor before you try it. Also, sunshine, even through the window helps make me feel alive. Good luck.
