Chronic kidney disease (CKD)

My husband, 67, was just diagnosed with stage 4 CKD after 5 days in hospital due to uncontrolled blood pressure. Due to prostate putting pressure on kidneys. He has plans with a urologist to address this and I will be calling the nephrologist in the morning.

Now CKD Stage 3 a. My father had polyscistic kidneys and recieved dialysis during his last few years. My ACR and BP were normal. My creatinine level however was 114 (range 59-104).

Is this all a sign for CKD? I'm 32 and fairly active and healthy. What will happen at my first Nephro appointment?

Hi, I am in my begin stage of learning about ckd. I have lee hull's book and bought some Acacia gum powder, it a powder mixed with 8 oz of water in a blender every day. This is my 1st week getting used to it so I started with 1 tea spoon per 8 oz. I do not argue with people and I am polite.

Recovering from his CKD - stage 3B. He also has Bradycardia, high blood pressure. I had been keep careful notes from what I learned on this forum. My computer crashed, Lost everything.

Regular medical check-up revealed hypertension and chronic kidney disease (ckd). I’m 68 and otherwise well. GP is treating the hypertension (which he deems to be the root cause of the cdk) with Losartan and Atorvastatin.

Good Morning, I have stage 3a CKD however I don’t have hypertension but GP is great and keeps a good monitor on my BP, she said she’d like to keep it low. I was initially prescribed Lisinopril however after 2 months my face began to swell and I felt awful.

I have stage 5 CKD IgA nephritis GFR about 15. I would appreciate any information anyone has on it Thank you for your help . Scott

I was wondering does anyone know why Jardiance helps CKD, how does it work? Especially for people who don’t have diabetes.

From what I can tell, most CKD people take carvedilol for their BB. Does anyone have any experiences with Metoprolol and kidney issues? If so, did you see any improvement upon discontinuation of that particular drug?
