Cholesterol
Just had a cholesterol test and I think the GP wants to prescribe stations. Do these interact at all with MTX or COSENTYX? I have changed my diet, but on investigation it seems dietary changes rarely make a difference.

How much water should I drink ?
I am
CKD
3 and my dr told me to limit my drinks to 1.5L a day. I said that was too little as I take fibre for constipation. So he said 2L. I see in your replies they often say “Drink plenty of water “. I am still very very constipated. Should I ignore my Dr and drink lots more?

DOACs
I have just read a 'Healthline' publication dated January 2023 about the long term effects of blood thinners and anticoagulants. I am a bit concerned with the content of this article and would like members of our group opinions. The article stated that there was no reversal agent for Riveroxaban and

why a stress test?
Been a while cause all has been “quiet.” I have been taking Flecainide 50 twice a day, Eliquis 5 twice a day, metoprolol 15 in am and 12.5 in evening. It’s been a year. Occasional blip but nothing to talk about really. I’m 66, female, and exercise aerobically 4-5 times a week. Sleep and eat well, work

Statins to be extended to 15m extra people
I've just read this article ( https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/jan/12/new-statins-guidelines-nice-nhs-england ) Paul Chrisp, the director of the centre for guidelines at Nice, said: “What we’re saying is that, for people with a less than 10% risk over 10 years of a first heart attack or stroke

Stopping anticoagulation for Left gastric artery embolisation (LGAE) for weight loss trial
I have been invited to take part in the EMBIO trial which involves having a gastric artery embolisation procedure which done by catheter and they say is very similar to other catheter angiogram procedures. They have said that I should stop taking Rivaroxaban for 10 days or a week before the procedure

Proteinuria
He said they need to check for
CKD
(maybe he shouldnt have told me that idk if thats bad form) and I'm getting blood tests done later this week. Needless to say I'm feeling a little freaked out but trying to just stay neutral until i get tests back. Is
CKD
normal in someone my age?

Very concerned. New to all of this.
Educating myself on
CKD
and read it usually progresses over time. I had a yearly physical in March this year and my bloodwork showed a creatinine of 0.99 and eGFR of 59. Fast forward to July, hospitalized for dehydration due to Covid.

Thanks for your earlier support for my 1st ablation. But now more questions.
I had my catheter ablation for Afib Dec. 30th. I went in with NSR, succesful ablation according to my Surgeon, and woke up in NSR. Yay!! Not so fast. In just 2 days I was walking around and doing light work, Yay! But here's the thing, on Jan. 7 at 6pm I went into Afib and it has continued even

Arm pain after angiogram
I had my angiogram using the radial artery on Thursday 5/1. Its now been over 72 hours and I am experiencing pain in my arm from the elbow upwards. Taking paracetamol but any relief is very temporary. Is this common?

Jardiance
Hello all - I am stage 4
ckd
and I am about to try Jardiance and was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with this medicine. I understand it is very similar (same class of drug) as Farxiga, which my insurance won't cover. Thanks in advance.

Improvement in fatigue
A year ago my kidneys failed due to an allergic reaction to medicine and I've been in stage 4
CKD
since. One of the worst side effects for me was the added fatigue. My primary care physician suggested that I have a sleep study done.

Shock kidney function result, any related experiences?
Though technically low/moderate
CKD
(just), its concerning. On further investigation, I suspect 1/more of the following may contribute. Related experience(s)? i. Drinking less water in recent months (down to barely 1l/dy) ii.

Angiogram update
Thanks everyone who responded to my previous post. Good news - I cut out Warfarin yesterday and my INR dropped to 2.4 allowing my angiogram to take place today. And more good news - my arteries are OK so no need for stents etc. I'm home again and feeling SO relieved!

GOING FORWARD
Yesterday I met with my EP for my two week follow up. The follow up is for my failed cardioversion. They tried three times to Shockett with no NSR. Yesterday was to be about what’s next. My body responds to things usually but does not stay for very long. I had a typical flutter up until two weeks ago
