Dr Mark Norman EP
Have been looking at EPs in my area as I believe that I’ll need an ablation eventually. I’m on flecainide and bisoprolol currently and whilst so far I’ve only had one AF event in the last 12 months (compared to every two or three months pre medication) I know that it may not last. The number of palpitations

PMR without steroids?
Hubby (55) was just diagnosed with PMR that we suspect he's had for about two years. He'd like to try and work through it without taking prednisone since every post we read is about people trying to get off of it. Do you think it's possible to manage the pain with other means and methods long enough

A question.
I went for an ECG today which is basically a yearly check re taking Dronedarone. Unfortunately, I was asked to lie down in a totally flat position which leaves me feeling nauseous. I mentioned this to my wife who quite automatically said "Why don't they take your ECG when you are upright"? Which when

Coming off meds - any advice?
Hoping you are all having a good day. I’ve just had the news that my three month post ablation ambulatory ECG has given good results - ‘very reassuring’ and ‘no sign of AF’. So far, so good. I was told that I can stop Flecainide today and Bisoprolol after a further two months. I’d welcome your comments

Angioplasty tomorrow...in urgent need of advice asap pls
Hi all angioplasty booked for tomorrow but not sure if I should go ahead with it or just cancel. Reason for procedure: Doc wants to investigate extent of artery blockage in order to prescribe flecanide medication for afib. If blockage is severe he will fit a stent during the procedure. Got quite a shock

Dad - CBD
So the last few days my dad has been poorly. His breathing hasn't been very good and he has been making awful noises. He is now struggling to swallow so sits with food in his mouth (he is on a puree diet) and is quite dribbly. When my mum does get him to eat it is usually no more than a couple of teaspoons

Physio and CBD
hi. My mum (81) has CBD, diagnosed December 2019 but had symptoms for about 3/4 years before. Due to lockdown and other circumstances, she’s just started to see a neuro physio. Her right arm is the ‘alien limb’ and mum hasn’t been able to do anything with it really but the physio wanted her to try and

My Home ECG reading? AF or Ectopics
As you may know from my recent posts Ive been having aweful time past 5 days with ectopics and palpitations. Ive been recording them and the photo attached is the typical of what Im having every minute of the day. I think overnight I went into sinus rhythm - I found a 2mg of Diazepam from years ago

Blood pressure
I saw a poster at the GPs about blood pressure, basically it said keep your blood pressure down and you won’t have a stroke or blood clots. I’m wondering if I can keep my low blood pressure, in spite of my platelets being somewhat raised, would that mean I wouldn’t have a stroke? I’ve not known the

UPDATE for all you lovely people out there who were kind enough to send support at a tough time. Firstly, just to let you know I’m recovering very well from the spine surgery, all healing nicely and to plan. I spoke to the cardiologist this morning. After using Flec twice a day, plus as PiP on Saturday

Doctor
I asked my nephrologist about some of the new diabetes medication that is helpful in stopping the progression of
ckd
and the answer I received is I don’t handle diabetes meds. I called the office when I got Covid and was told that he doesn’t get involved with that. Call the primary doctor.

raised blood pressure and NDT- what to do?
I started on NDT in Sept 2022 and felt great within a fortnight after nine months of levo doing nothing for me and about 8 years of undiagnosed hypothyroidism steadily getting worse. My blood pressure has always been a normal 120/80 or thereabouts. In January, I got asked in the street by a health promotion

Afib and ejection fraction
Can the ejection fraction be lowered because of afib?? Ended up with it 4yrs ago after covid like illness which they said was pneumonia because hadn't become known at that point but all my symptoms were identical & i ended up in icu for 10days. I don't have any symptoms (flutters or pounding) & can walk

Kind of personal question
I did talk to my therapist and he isn't sure if meds would be ok with

but does think they are indicated. If anyone takes an antidepressant with
CKD
I'd appreciate knowing so I can ask my Internist about getting one. I'm Stage 4 eGFR 28.

An indicator in the blood could guide lupus treatment
