hi. My mum (81) has CBD, diagnosed December 2019 but had symptoms for about 3/4 years before. Due to lockdown and other circumstances, she’s just started to see a neuro physio.
Her right arm is the ‘alien limb’ and mum hasn’t been able to do anything with it really but the physio wanted her to try and exercise to move her arm again. She’s been doing the exercises suggested but it’s made mum wobbly and her right arm is getting almost uncontrollable at times (it hung by her side before) and making daily life more difficult. She’s persevering for now in the hope it will improve but I know it’s making her uncomfortable. Has anyone else come across this? Thank you 😊

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. This CBD is dreadful, isn't it? My husband manifested symptoms 9 years ago and was finally diagnosed officially in 2019. His right arm is also his alien limb and we had Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy for awhile, but neither one was very helpful. Even after all the exercises and therapy, he still would not use his right arm and seemed more agitated and very frustrated when he did try to use it. There are so few answers and so little help when it comes to this blasted condition. I can only wish you well as a caregiver. This is a rough road. One of the few things I have found, however, that seems to help my husband is to put both of my hands on his head at bedtime and send Reiki energy to him. I also focus on "the old days" and happy memories and hope that somehow I might be "transmitting" some of that good energy to him. He does seem to settle down and isn't roaming at night quite as much as he used to since I've been doing this. I wish you well and may you both, you and your mom, find some comfort and peace on this challenging journey.
thank you for your response. It does sound similar and mum does her quite agitated. We’ll see how she gets on and I’ll talk to the physio. Good luck on your journey
