Platelet blood work

Hi, Dr initially diagnosed me with PMR (47 yr old). After being on 30 mg prednisone for 13 weeks almost and not a lot of improvement he is now exploring other seronegative spondylitis types eg AS or reactive arthritis. Still awaiting HLA-B27 blood tests results. I received 2 blood tests today back 1) negative platelet associated antibody (PAA) and 2) negative platelet immunofluorescence (PIFT). No allo-reactive or no auto-reactive platelet antibodies. I have no idea what this means? Anyone know? Thanks

Seems something of a random test to me - is there any reason for your doctor to suspect lupus?

I am left to wonder about his knowledge - it shouldn't take 13 weeks at 30 to realise this isn't typical PMR! Especially when the symptoms themselves are far from typical!

I don't why he ordered the platelet tests at all. He has no idea what's going on with me so covering all bases. Hopefully the rheumatologist might be more clued up. Thank you.
