GCA Worries
Hopefully you’ll recall that 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with GCA and put on 60 mg. Prednisone after a positive temporary biopsy. My vision has been ok, except the last couple of days I’m having a strange phenomenon. It seems my eyes are having trouble focusing at a distance. Up close is fine, and if

Tezepelumab/Spirometry with Reversibility
Hi, hope everyone is managing well. I’m just looking to hear others experiences if possible. I’m quite complex and don’t show a high FeNO and spirometry is normal and my asthma is driven by neutrophils for inflammation. Best peak flow is 440, hovering around 220-350 - 220 is pre meds in the morning

PMR/GCA Solitary Lung Nodule
I have a diagnosis of Atypical PMR symptoms started December 2022 Consistent throughout past 9months since symptoms began has been a chest wall pain mostly at shoulder blade level. I was given a diagnosis of PMR after about 3months as it being Atypical because the inflammatory markers were not raised

Congestion
I have Bronchiectasis and Asthma, over the past month or so I am continually congested with unpleasant mucus. I had a few days of, for me, severe asthma, which was sorted out with a short course of prednisolone. I just cannot seem to get rid of the congestion, keeping me awake at night and I am so

Medication interaction
I was recently diagnosed with AF and heart failure and prescribed digoxin and Bisoprolol as well as Edoxaban and now wonder if it is still safe to start my rescue pack on top of these. I have had Doxycyclin and 8 prednisolone daily prior to this. Also as breathlessness is supposedly a side effect of

Tapering withdrawal
Morning all , I am currently tapering from 3mg to 2mg , my blood test inflammation ratings are normal , but I am having very sore muscle pain whilst tapering , I am assuming it may be withdrawal symptoms from prednisone as I have been on prednisone for over two years , but dr is thinking it may be

Hello. I am new to this site but not new to prednisone. I was diagnosed with GCA in 2016 through a regular eye test, nearly didn’t go as felt very fluey at the time. Glad I did I was sent straight to hospital with a letter to be seen immediately by a rheumatologist. My CRP was 139 and I was started on

Painful feet, back, thighs
It is now 1 1/2 years since I was diagnosed with GCA. I started on 60mg prednisolone and have now reduced to 7mg/6mg with the help of Tocilizumab/Actemra injections for one year, now stopped, and methotrexate 10mg per week, which I am still on. I have had one relaps last summer but have been ok since

headache in middle of forehead.
I had a root canal procedure a week and a half ago. Since that time, I’ve had a headache that comes and goes in the middle of my forehead between my eyebrows The root canal dentist prescribed an antibiotic to rule out a sinus problem resulting from the procedure, but I was also checked out by a neuro

Pain a week after starting taper
I started tapering from 8 mg every other day to 7 about ten days ago and now my shoulder hurts at night and morning. Depressing. It's easy to have the illusion one is getting better when in fact it's the prednisone working.

Stiff and painful neck, a flare?
I’ve had a stiff and painful neck for the last 3,4 days. Turning my head to the left or right causes pain, also lying down. It feels like it’s my neck muscles but not sure what’s going on or if it’s a flare. Also a big increase in tinnitus and very fatigued. With other flares I’ve had pain

raised Inflammation markers, pain not typical
After 5 years on prednisone I am down to 1 mg. Have been on Celebrex for arthritis pain, but concerned about heart health I’ve stopped taking it. I am now experiencing general pain and discomfort, not in the typical areas I first experienced when diagnosed with PMR. Have taken ibuprofen which while

Advice please! re inhalers, steroids, personality, voice... and breathing balance.
Any advice? I have been diagnosed with asthma. I also have past sinus polyps and take pantoprazole for stomach acid. I feel like I have inflammation from my ears to my insides. I get quite wheezy but mostly in throat and upper chest - sometimes sounds like I have a little bird cheeping in my throat

Rheumatoid, Peri-Menopause, HRT
I am 54 and have had RA for 34 years. I am at the end stage of perimenopause, and close to transitioning to Menopause. The RA feels worse. My joints are so achy even my muscles hurt at times. Anyone suggestions from experienced ladies. Does HRT help? My current medication list is Humira 40 by weekly

Lab Tests Indicate High Lipase
Has anyone taking prednisone and Actemra had a high lipase on their routine lab tests. I’m on 4 mg prednisone and bi-weekly injections of Actemra for GCA. I get lab tests every month, and the past several months Lipase is high (usually around 60-70). I’ve done a CT scan with the dye, and was told

Q: MRI /MRA Results Normal
I am relieved to report that my scans came back normal. No aneurysms or abnormalities seen. I had head and neck done; with, and without contrast dye. The question I have is regarding something PMRpro commented on a few posts ago: that the tests are worthless if you’ve been on prednisone for a while.

Need help
I first was diagnosed with PMR and suspected GCA in Dec. 2018. Started on 50 mg of. Prednisone and tapered off after a couple of years. Had another bout but finally completely off prednisone by Sept. 2022. I've had a few of the odd reminders like having a problem getting up from the sofa and being exhausted
