How I Plan To Survive Prostate Cancer
When I didn't know anything about PCa I was rushed into an RP and when that failed a worthless SRT. When my PSA reached 1 after the SRT my URO said to find a Onco. On searching on Google The Cleveland Clinic ads kept displaying on how they were experts in treating PCa..So I went to the CC and saw the

I was a bit puzzled by the PCa news in the Times this morning [1]: "Hormone Blockers Can Prolong Life if Prostate Cancer Recurs" "The medical term for blocking male hormones is chemical castration ..." Metastatic prostate cancer and Zytiga is probably failing.
Sister of brother with advanced prostate cancer. My brother is 68 years old and was diagnosed in 8/2015. His PSA was at about 1200 at one point. Casodex worked for a couple of months and now he is on Zytiga. I am hoping to get him into Dana Farber soon

Lupron Almost Always Works but Is The Grim Reaper...But Here is a Case when Less is Better Than More
I have read hundreds of case histories of PCa because the best predictor of the future is to study the past. The usual scenario...BCR after primary therapy or mPCa at diagnosis. At this point you can do a PSMA scan or Choline 11 scan to locate the hot spots. If Oligo ( 5 or fewer) go after the PCa again

Starting ADT
We met with the oncologist at UCSF. My husband will be part of the PSMA MRI clinical study that evaluates a new scan being developed for prostate cancer. They will be doing gene sequencing on his primary cancer in the prostate as well as sequencing the lymph nodes. Since he has been diagnosed as stage

What would you do?
Brothers: Two pelvic lymph nodes, tumor burden in one, was 2.7cm, in the other it was 2.5cm. Now, one year later, with only 150mg daily of casodex monotherapy, both nodes have been reduced to 1.6cm. PSA one year ago was 105; now it is 6.7 I am thinking of adding Advodart and monitoring the two nodes

Starting the journey with family
Hi all, My father was diagnosed about a month ago with advanced prostate cancer that has metastasized. English is not his first language and he is still absorbing all the information and its implications, so I am doing my best to research and communicate information. We are being treated at NYU Langone

Salvage Radiation Update Success?
On 10/27/13 I had a prostatectomy at age 49 and PSA of 12. My diagnosis was Gleason (4+5), epe, Nx0, Dx0, extensive SVI, and negative margins. PSA after prostatectomy was 0.0 for 6 months then a slow rise for 30 months to a level 0.182. On 6/30/16 I started radiation with 37 treatments to prostate

Cycling T and ADT?
I sure like the concept of Cycling T and ADT to prevent CRPC. Dr. Myers does not use this protocol and when I asked an oncologist at The Mayo Clinic about it, he drew a diagram of PCa, and said it would not work because PCa is made up of many different genetic variants including populations of cancer

Question For The Board
Lupron has side effects like CVD, brain fog, and loss of sex drive because it wipes out T production. Also because of castrate T, DHT is usually not a problem. Casodex has fewer side effects because T is not lowered but DHT is still a problem. I just read a study where Casodex + Avodart was just as effective

Effects of casodez
I've been on Lupron for 2 years. Went on Casodex last month. PSA had risen from 1.5 to 3.4. Very small mets in pelvis, but at my age 79, Radiologist thinks the CT scan could be showing effects of arthritis. Oncologist agrees. Radiologit wants me to have radiation of the breasts to prevent swelling and
