Treatment-naive or relapsed CLL patients will soon have zanubrutinib/Brukinsa as a treatment option in the EU
[i]The EC approval is based on positive results from two Phase 3 clinical trials: SEQUOIA (NCT03336333), in patients with previously untreated CLL, and ALPINE (NCT03734016), in patients with R/R CLL. In these two trials, BRUKINSA demonstrated superior efficacy versus either bendamustine plus rituximab

Xtandi can fuel spread of bone tumours in advanced prostate cancer?
I've been taking Xtandi for two months now and my PSA has continued to go down, however, I'm definitely getting more pain from a tumour on my back below my shoulder blade. It's gone from being just uncomfortable to now needing to take some painkillers before I go to bed otherwise it's too painful to

Weaning off painkillers
Had hip replacement 6 weeks ago.On 1000mg paracetemol and 60mg codeine 4 times a day pain relief. Had no advice about how long I should take this medication or how to manage coming off it. Would love a drink at Christmas. How long should I be on painkillers and can I get off them this week?

Has anyone tried Hydroxychloroquin for CLL?
There are studies showing HCQ causes apoptosis in CLL, lowering the WBC. Did anyone take HCQ for covid and find their WBC dropped?

Mentally draining
I am just so sick of this, of putting up with excruciating pain. When I'm on my period is when I get the pain. It lasted for about 4 days, I passed out the other night as the stabbing pain was so intense. I started with chills and sweats and everything turned blurry, I leaned on the wall and felt my

PCV 20 Guidelines ? Get 20 if you already had 13 and 23 - or not ?
One pharmacist in Florida refused to give PCV 20 "because guidelines say that if you had other previous pneumo vaccinations you do not need PCV 20 !" I got PCV 13 in 2015 and PCV 23 in 2005. My understanding of the literature is that PCV20 is now "updated" and everybody should get it who may get it

IgHV - unmutated and Acalabrutinib
Saw my CLL specialist yesterday and he had the results of the IgHV testing he requested. It seems I am unmutated status which isn't great news. At the time of starting treatment, we were in 1st year of pandemic and Acalabrutinib was offered. As he said normally I would have been offered FCR because

Constipation - suggestions please!
I also now take Citalopram and on occasion other medication for
chronic
back
pain
. I’ve had constipation for years and understand that all of the medication above plus being hypothyroid are factors in this. I eat a fibre rich diet, try to drink enough fluids etc.

Neck and Shoulder pain. Bad at night, getting little sleep.
I have neck and shoulder pain which radiates down my arms. The only painkiller I can take is paracetamol as I take warfarin. The GP says it's due to taking Levothyroxine for an underactive thyroid. I've been taking both medications for over 10 years and woder about long term use. The pain is constant

Hi, this is very random but I’ve been suffering from leg pain and weakness for a couple days now. My work involves standing all day and I’m usually exhausted every day but recently the last few days my legs have been killing. I’ve tried different pain killers and they only provide very small relief

PUL any success stories??
I found out I was pregnant last week. However, during the week before I had woke up in the night with sharp pains. I thought it was because I was due on and the pains had gone the following morning. So once I found out I was pregnant I went to A&E for reassurance. They booked me in for a scan which I

BFN (sort of) Beta test HCG only 6 after two positive tests
I had really let myself get my hopes up after our only 3AB embryo was transferred last week. I had two positive pregnancy tests over the past 2 days and you know how it is.... I'd already worked out when my due date was and when I'd stop work for mat leave etc. Well I had my 9dp5dt blood test today and

Medical gaslighting and problems accessing help through NHS
I was diagnosed with
chronic
pain
state in 2011, fibromyalgia in 2013 and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome last year. Back in 2011, the NHS was challenging but help existed. I received hydrotherapy and rehabilitation in hospital. I was in a wheelchair and I could barely walk.

My MD Anderson doctor is leaving
I received a letter on Saturday that my oncologist at MD Anderson, Dr. Philip Thompson, is leaving effective January 3, 2023. Nooooooooo! Dr. Thompson is originally from Australia and has made the decision to return to Melbourne and join the Low-Grade Lymphoma and CLL group at the Peter MacCallum Cancer

Sensitive: is ectopic 'vanishingly rare' with IVF?
Thank you to everyone who has been so kind with their advice and checking in. I spent a long time at the EPU today with a pretty confusing outcome - the nurse who scanned me said there was a gestational sac but nothing else, and that my right ovary that she could see looked fine, no cysts etc. Definitely

Mum in extreme pain
My Mum has been suffering with a Prolapse for the past 5 months and it has caused incredible amounts of pain. The pain seems to be easier when she first wakes up in the morning - to the point where she says she is completely resolved. For context, she has been diagnosed with a Stage 2 rectocele and
