TSH slowly creeping back up.
Anyway, at my last GP appt on December 1st, with my
cholesterol
results (actually a LOT lower than 9.11: the NHS
test
came back at 6.1) and my November TSH result, my GP was desperate to put me back on statins. This, despite me saying that I’m starting to feel worse in terms of thyroid symptoms.

Cholesterol Slightly Raised
Hi, I have been on Atrovastatin 80mg for a couple of years now and have just had my annual Cholesterol check. Surprisingly it has risen slightly, bit concerned as my diet has not changed (I am really careful in what I eat, rarely drink more 4/5 units a week) and nor has my exercise routines in fact

Genetic Testing for cholesterol and insurance
Hi The only test I have outstanding is a genetic
test
for familial hypercholeserolmia (high
cholesterol
) . I was told that insurers shouldn’t ask for genetic testing but looking into it FH is considered to be an illness and diagnostic tests can be disclosed.

Cholesterol
Where can I find reliable information regarding cholesterol levels. I am in the US and cardio specialist who is also a lipid specialist is confused due to so much conflicting info for people with PBC and cholesterol. My LDL is high, so is my HDL and my Triglycerides are normal. I don't have any heart

Hypothyroid for 18 years. Discovered high cholesterol recently. Can I start using plant sterols alongside Thyroxine??
Also have tried increasing thyroxine (temporarily) for 3 months, to see if cholesterol results come down. They have come down from 8.9 to 7.5 in that 3 months. Not low enough I know, but it has reduced it. Trying my best not to be put on statins if I possibly can, or BP meds. Has anyone tried Plant

Low Testosterone Linked With Mortality Risk in Aging Men - by Jeff Minerd , Contributing Writer, MedPage Today May 13, 2024
No way to know if this is applicable to those on ADT, but it would seem to be relevant for consideration. The highlighted portion is a useful guide on male sex hormone targets for those testing them. These results might also add support for Morgentaler's "Saturation Model" for testosterone. Full

Cholesterol Levels?
Has anyone noticed a relationship between their cholesterol levels and severity/progression of their liver disease? Atorvastatin
I had been resisting my GPs' calls to take statins for some years having pointed out to them that although they were saying a total cholesterol level around 6 was too high the ratio of HDL to LDL was good. About eighteen months ago I acquiesceded and started taking Atorvastatin. However, l was hospitalised

stopping bisopromol
My cholesterol was in an acceptable range so my consultant was happy to explore and we dropped my stating to 40mg and monitored for 3 months, had another
cholesterol
blood
test
and I’m still in a good range on the HDL/LDL ratio. I’ve also dropped my bisopromol from 5mg to 2.5mg.

Post nstemi.. liver bloods?
So in December 2023 I had an nstemi (have a stent fitted).Today I went for a blood
test
to check my
cholesterol
levels, kidneys and liver function. I assume because of all the meds I'm on. This evening I get a text to say to book a "routine appointment" with my GP to discuss liver bloods.
