I am waiting for my TSH, T4 + T3 results ordered by Endo but have received the serum lipid results today (test taken yesterday morning as per Thyroid UK’s protocol), which are as follows:
4.46 mmol/L Serum cholesterol
0.72 mmol/L Serum triglycerides
1.52 mmol/L Serum HDL cholesterol level
2.61 mmol/L Serum LDL cholesterol level
2.94 mmol/L Se non HDL cholesterol level
2.9 Serum cholesterol/ HDL ratio
Any Help understanding these would be gratefully received. Will post my thyroid results when they land on my GP app.
Thank you all.

I would not be concerned - the numbers are low but I would not be concerned if numbers were higher- if they were, for me, it would be an indicator that I needed to look at thyroid hormone and vitamin levels. 😉
I’m on page with greygoose on this. Ultimately it is up to us as individuals to research and make up our own minds…… We do have autonomy, just in case you do have a doctor obsessed with putting EVERYONE on statins…..
I recently had a blood test at the new surgery and everything including lipids was fine- really good actually- except TSH. The reason everything is fine was my thyroid hormone and vitamin levels were good I’m not symptomatic and TSH does not agree with my thyroid hormone status. If I were to allow ignorance to prioritise my TSH I expect it would be a different story. Well I know from the battle I had getting onto a therapeutic dose of Levothyroxine.
I've recently started T3 (Dec 23) with my T4 and Endo wanted lipids as well as thyroid bloods. Just want to be aware of any issues before my next appt in a couple of weeks. Feeling a bit apprehensive as no clue really re cholesterol, other than good+bad. I believe my diet is good, plenty fresh fruits+veg+I cook from scratch+am gf.
