Do I really have PMR, should I be here? Rheumatologist suggested dx due to symptoms, but there are other possibilities. A newbie to site.

Levothyroxine and hydrocortisone
Hi. I have low cortisol lately. 68. I’ve been on Levothyroxine for 11 years and suddenly this year each time I take it my cortisol drops significantly causing so much weakness I can’t sit up or walk. I’ve been prescribed hydrocortisone but it s more like a sedative for me. It doesn’t pick me up. Has

Worsening sleep and gastro problems on NDT
I went back on Thiroyd because of long standing depression, inability to lose weight and impaired sexual function. The doctors I've seen only want to prescribe levothyroxine. Started NDT slowly, and am now up to .75 grains twice a day. The past three days my already poor sleep has worsened. Go to

T4-only; T3-T4 Combo, T3-only or NDT? How do you know?

Still foxed
Afternoon - I have been hypo for 10 years and decided to self medicate- now taking t3 only. When I first started I lost over a stone without trying in around 6 weeks. It then started to go back on and once again I cannot shift any weight. Cortisol good after taking hydrocortisone for 18 months.

Humidity and air purifiers.
Anyone else totally done with this weather? It’s beautiful and all but my goodness does it play havoc with my asthma! Ended up in A&E again yesterday thanks to this stupid humidity! Luckily this time I had paramedics who’d been to me before and know exactly how to treat me. They put me straight into

Heart of the matter
Hi, to all those remember me, It's been a while since I posted. I was due to have 3 coronary heart bypasses and a mitral valve repair. Unfortunately the surgeon at Papworth decided not to go head with open heart surgery due to the mitral valve being extensively calcified so wouldn't risk it. They

Follow-on from GCA Relapse!
I saw a doctor this morning, (not my usual). He did indeed think that I was having another flare and told me to continue on 6mgs of pred. With regards to the stinging rash on my neck, he said it was not heat rash but looked like Shingles or maybe an allergic reaction to something. He gave me some

Apologies for anyone squeamish. I am in the IC with a sodding horse fly bite. Antihistamines not worked, nor anthesan cream so got hydrocortisone cream to try but pharmacist said elevation as well. Does anyone know anything else which works? Plus can anyone recommend a good repellent as the normal stuff

I finally had a response from my rheumie. My cortisol level continues to be low and I should be hearing from the endocrinology department for help and advice. I am to continue with 2mls or increase if I do run into trouble. My gp may give me some Hydrocortisone for any infection. At the moment my

Pompholyx
As mentioned in another thread I have incredibly bad pompholyx on the sole of my left foot this year - photos do not do justice to how itchy it can be! These pics are as it started to clear up and don’t really show how red raw the skin was after i’d scratched it off itching - it went on to be dry and

Prednisolone diary 11 - switching to methyl pred
As I posted recently, I've newly developed myositis and my rheumy was keen to give high dose iv steroids. But past experience has been that even small increases in my normal daily pred dose of 4mg causes incapacitating side effects. After discussion with endocrinologist, rheumy agreed to try some variants

Thyroid Medication Issues On Hydrocortisone
Hi All, I have been hypothyroid for a long time and track temperatures and pulse etc frequently. I have never been able to get it under control properly and have had the best results on high t3, which always concerned me as taking 100mcg seemed crazy, but was the only thing that made me slightly better
