I’ve already had lumpectomy, lymph node clearance, 6 rounds of
chemotherapy
, having IV bisophates 6 monthly for 3 years and I’m currently taking Letrozole and adcal. The plan is that I will be taking this medication for 2 years.

Medication-induced nerve damage to brain. experience?
The medication i took years ago was for acne but also is used for
chemotherapy
, i’ve since found out. Pretty sure, after years of trying to find answers, it has damaged the nerves in my brain.

Seeking Advice for My Mom with Ovarian Cancer
She has already undergone ovarian removal surgery and
chemotherapy
at a private hospital. Initially, the doctor said the first few
chemotherapy
sessions were quite effective, but later, the treatment seemed to lose its effectiveness.

Is my sister repeating history?
Through the previous posts you would know that my younger brother is undergoing
chemotherapy
treatment for almost 7 months now. So this post is dedicated to my sister. I came across something shocking. She is around 12. And has been the life of the party.

First line of treatment
A previous oncologist said I need
chemotherapy
. Glad to know I won't be doing chemo right off the bat. Big sigh of relief today.

Full circle with metastatic prostate cancer
I will try
chemotherapy
again and start radiating the painful spots. I guess I will have to stop working as well. My bones are just too fragile. Crazy disease.

Chemotherapy after Lobectomy
The consultant said that there is a chance the cancer could return, and she was offered
chemotherapy
. They gave her a choice between Vinorelbine and Carboplatin. She is reluctant to have
chemotherapy
because of the side effects.

I have read that in certain cases, adding 3 to 4 cycles of
chemotherapy
to both of these treatments can be curative and am wondering if anyone can advise me on this.

We might for the first time really be thinking of cures of cancer’
Initially, when
chemotherapy
was developed, medical oncologists thought if we find the right combination of
chemotherapy
, we can cure most patients with cancer. That turned out to be naïve, and there was a lot of discouragement among clinicians when their clinical trials didn’t improve outcomes.

'Palliative Chemotherapy'
Following first reccurence after 11 months remission mum started carbo caelyx 2 weeks ago. She has just received a letter saying she is now aware treatment is palliative. She is beside herself and now I fear it's going to be a self fulfilled prophecy. Why must they send these letters.
