Hi Everyone , ok so John went back to oncologist to hear the plan . She wants him to have a biopsy on biggest lymph node to see if cancer as changed into small cell as its different treatment , then she suggests to go with chemo first before Lu 177 and also another option is to change his medication

Blood Transfusion day after Chemo
Hi allI've had many units of blood over the years during my chemo, but I'm having a unit of blood today and my chemo was only yesterday. I know this might sound daft but will having more blood in my system only 1 day after chemo mean that the chemo drugs will kind of be watered down!!? Never thought

Had my 2nd appt with my Haematologist today
She said it is not really like main stream
chemotherapy
and the small risk is worth it to give me a good quality hopefully long life free from a debilitating stroke etc.

Bloating and weight gain solutions anyone?
I read that hydroxycarbamide treatment is likely to produce a weight gain. Even though I am now on the smallest dose (500mg/day), dealing with a bloated tummy is so difficult. I should add that I have ET and have been on treatment now for close to 3 years. I exercise religiously but feel so frustrated

Options when Docetaxel stops working
Hi everyone- My brother was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in April of 2021. His PSA was 52 at the time of his diagnosis. He went on Lupron and Abiraterone which took his PSA to .03 and kept it low until Oct 2022. It went to 8.9 and his doctor put him on Docetaxel chemo. His PSA has continued

Suppliments that help with chemo?
A friend on their own chemo journey recommended the following - wondering if anyone agrees, or is this the equivalent of snake oil? Thanks for any help you can give. Pao V “FM”® is a dietary supplement composed of Pao pereira extract (Geissospermum vellosii) and "Quassia amara" powder. Ginkgo V® is

Capecitabine (Xeloda)
I have for the past 2 and a half years been taking Ibrance and letrozole. Unfortunately my last two scans have shown that they are no longer working and the cancer cells have started to grow. Tomorrow I start taking Capecitabine ( Xeloda) a chemo drug. 3 x 150 twice a day. 2 weeks on 1 week off. I

In June, went over 2 & MO felt was castrate resistant. Stopped abi. and started Keytruda (I am MSI- high

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this but so glad I found it. Thought I'd introduce myself....no point in holding back!
Hi, This October 2023, will mark the 25th 'Anniversary' of when, at the age of 26, I was wheeled into Theatre for an Operation that lasted 7hrs. I had 8 months previously been told that there was nothing wrong with me when I kept going & phoning the Doctors as my Period (as I thought it was) came
