Hi allI've had many units of blood over the years during my chemo, but I'm having a unit of blood today and my chemo was only yesterday. I know this might sound daft but will having more blood in my system only 1 day after chemo mean that the chemo drugs will kind of be watered down!!? Never thought to ask the question when the nurse booked my appointment and now I'm just wondering so has anyone else experienced this and perhaps asked that question plz?
PS I will ask wen I get there but its in my head now so hoping someone can ease my overworking brain lol π x

I don't know if it will do any harm but I can tell you I had a blood transfusion on the same day as chemo once and I felt wonderful after it. Hope all goes well. Zena x

I had my blood transfusion the next morning after chemo and was told the sooner the better for me. I felt so much better within a few days as my haemoglobin was very low pre transfusion. xxx
HI Kouyate hope youre doing well? I just wodnered, what was the reason for this blood tranfusion? My mums been struggling with breathlessness so was hoping to get one as we think she could be anaemic? xxx
Hi Georgia, sorry to hear your mum is struggling. Can't really remember now the exact reason but was struggling with low blood counts during my chemo so may well have been because of aenaemia. If ur mum is going thru chemo then don't be afraid to mention any symptoms to her care team and they'll soon get her sorted, plz don't try and struggle along as there is enough to deal with π
