Suppliments that help with chemo?

A friend on their own chemo journey recommended the following - wondering if anyone agrees, or is this the equivalent of snake oil? Thanks for any help you can give.

Pao V “FM”® is a dietary supplement composed of Pao pereira extract (Geissospermum vellosii) and "Quassia amara" powder.

Ginkgo V® is a dietary supplement.

Check whatever you take with your oncologist first.

Ha, most of them rarely know about dietary supplements and RARELY look them up upon your request. Sad reality.

They know what interferes (e.g., antioxidants). And if there were any reliable research on supplement benefits, they would know that too. Reliable=RCTs published in peer-reviewed journals.

I was diagnoses with breast cancer and 26 years later with lymphoma. I used many supplements originally with little 'evidence' because I was (and am) chemically-sensitive. I believe dietary supplements helped me a lot. I also suggest looking into modified citrus pectin. Well-studied and known to have the potential to reduce metastatic spread. pubmed.gov National Library of Medicine

I agree with TA and check with your Oncologist first, but also talk to a reputable Naturopath who can design a program of supplements based on your specific situation. We're all different and one size certainly does not fit all. Good luck!
