Ozurdex implant
Hi I have CRVO with macular oedema in my right eye, this happened when I was 46, it’s coming up to a year now and I’ve had 3 lucentis injections and 5 bouts of laser, I’ve recently had the ozurdex implant and i must say that it has improved my sight but I was just wandering if anyone else has had this

Anyone familiar with Eosinophilic Fasciitis?
My dad, who is in his 60s, was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Fasciitis this past June. Apparently this auto immune disease is rare, and they don't know much about it. So far the medication they have tried on my dad has not had any real positive affects. One of which is called prednisone & and another is

Avastin mandated as first drug to try by my insurance-caused silicone floater
I HAVE to try Avastin first due to my insurance mandating a "proven fail"...for each eye. I have to try 3 injections. The first one for my right eye gave my a permanent silicone floater the shape of a comet directly in my line of sight. I am beside myself and furious when I was told it was permanent

Researchers discover how lungs cells respond to bacteria.
Previous research has shown that recovery from bacterial pneumonia hugely improves our defense against further infections by seeding the lungs with immune cells called lung resident memory T (TRM) cells, but how these cells actually protect the lungs against future bacterial infections has been unknown

Advice for a newbie
Hello, I just created the account because I am struggling with depression, anxiety and ptsd. I was struggling for months by myself but I couldn’t get professional help. When I finally got it and I started treatment with first cbt and antidepressants then they moved me to emdr. I could barely go through

Serious about going sugar free
Hi all, my head has been dreadful lately, also my neck, & pain in my back, legs, whole body at times, & even a new symptom where exactly half my face & scalp stung one day (a quick google suggested without doubt 'allodynia' - never heard of this before). I am otherwise a healthy & active 51 year old,

High Myopic Degeneration or Myopic Maculopathy
I have been diagnosed with high myopic degeneration. I've worn glasses since kindergarten (age 5). I don't ever remember having central vision in my right eye. I'm now 43 and the vision in my left eye is getting worse. I had a vein leak in 2004 which resulted in laser treatment. I was left with scaring

Excruciating pain immediately after eylea injections - no betadyne
Nearly a year of Avastin injections and two years of Eylea injections, no betadyne being used the last two years because I could not tolerate. Now (the last 4 inections) I have excruciating eye pain after the injection and last time a few minutes of no vision at all in the eye. I take Tylenol immediately

PA sufferers ive just realised
How many good vitamins Marmite has in it. Fortified with B vitamins, barley wheat oats rye also has thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B12 and folic acid. Surely having some marmite each day ( as hard as it is to eat ) would help with PA and the extra vitamins will help. If you do have knowledge

An update.
Hi all, I have now been seen by a specialist and diagnosed so wanted to give you an update. I have been diagnosed with Pathological Myopia which has resulted in PVD, rugby shaped eyes (not sure of the scientific word for this), and macular degeneration - although the Dr said that Pathological Myopia

Positive test for Lupus
Hi all, I'm posting on this web site because I have Autoimmune PA. I have recently had blood tests that stated I have the RO antibody positive. And suggests Lupus or Sjogrens. They are both another autoimmune condition. My GP. Ordered the tests because my whole body, skin, muscles and joints are so painful

WET AMD
Hello everyone, my Mum is having her 2nd Eylea injection this Friday. Hoping it will do some good. Just asking for some advice really - I think the Wet eye is quite active and she says when trying to read the paper the words sort of move like a wave. She said sometimes have to move her line of vision

Profile update....
I was diagnosed with hyperthyroid/Grave's disease in 2014. I feel I had it long before that. Of course, they offered the usual radioactive drink or thyroidectomy...I refused both and opted for Tapozole. A few months into the medication I started to go hypo and it started to affect my eyes. My medication
