Hello my friends,
After receiving such lovely messages, I thought you may be pleased to hear I am starting to recover some marked eyesight with my long sight seeming clearer, the consultant is very happy to tell me that the staphylococcus bacteria was treated initially by the the correct antibiotics into the eye and he is hopeful for further improvement but it will take time, the lots of little floaters may disappear and the inflammation clears.
I am still having eye drops 6 times a day and am feeling a lot better in myself.
I had so many concerns as you could imagine and still don’t know whether I will still recover the sight I had prior to this onset of Endophthalamitis.
I asked for a one to one meeting with the consultant away from the clinic to ask the many questions, future care plan, to determine the status of both eyes and the leakage, the next injections would be and so forth., he is suggesting that we only inject when there is a need and reducing the amount of injections.
I have this assessment of my Macular condition on Monday..
The question still remains of how this infection happened during the anti- VEGF infection? But I am still worried about the sterile protocol in my clinic as no action or incident has been raised.
My advice to all would make sure masks are being worn by anyone in the injection unit, I will also wear one to the future, try not to talk whilst in the injection room, it is essential that a clinic must be a sterile process.
On a happier note, I am glad it’s all behind me and grateful after nearly 4 weeks of battles I have progressed and out of pain and despair.
Wishing everyone the best outcome in your own battles.
With my love and thanks
Ann
