My first visit to the EP
I saw my EP today and they informed me that the 30 day event monitor showed that I had 2 events that lasted less than 10 seconds. He said there were two options that he recommended. (1) Start on Propafenone (RYTHMOL) 150mg 3 times a day. He said it will not cure the AF but it might prevent it. He said

Coming off Statins
I am a 76 year old male having had two cardio versions and one cardiac ablation. I also had two stents fitted about 3 years ago following a mild heart attack. I had been on various statins for about 5 years with muscular weakening side effects. I decided to take myself off statins (Atorvastatin

Catheter Ablation
Had ablation three days ago and post op was awful. Got better as the day went on. Woke up next day and was at work within an hour of release. Felt poorly that night and next morning but by afternoon was back at work and haven't looked back. Feeling great.

He also after looking at my notes said
catheter
ablation
is a wonderful cure for AF and suggested I should have it. If I agree, I am to phone his secretary and he will put me on his list.

New AFib patient
I have read that the
catheter
ablation
seems to be the procedure of choice with varying levels of success and duration. I've been reading about combo procedures that combines the ablation with another procedure known as a Maze.

CRP levels
This Monday I had a
catheter
ablation
for SVT. On admission I had a blood test, and when I looked at the result it included CRP, which was flagged at 13. I'm having a lot of back and knee pain I the morning, having to take paracetamol every day.

Happy New Year, 3 years and still wondering
Happy New Year everyone. This is just a quick update and to see if anyone else has been in the same boat. Since my last post I have had a Endometrial ablation, which has worked 50%. It has made life somewhat more bearable. I was referred to the Nuerology department in April as my memory has been progressively

Catheter ablation
Hi I'm 39 years old and was diagnosed with VT in May after being Mia diagnosed for five years previously with panic attacks. Two days ago I had my second ablation as the first one did not work and was still having VTs. Today I'm still having some salvos of around 8 beats and just want to ask if these

Post atrial flutter ablation
A week ago Monday I had
catheter
ablation
for atrial flutter. Wednesday of this week I woke up to quite excruciating pain top of my thigh / groin area. Went to see practice nurse who then got GP to check me out and said it was quite common.

New device
Hi. I was having INR checked when the nurse asked if I had heard about the new device which is implanted to control AF. Very recent trials. Having just had av node ablation (Oct) was angry with myself for having it done. If this is fact why oh why didn't EP tell me to wait awhile instead of urging

Going to have a cardiac ablation for Afib
I'm going to have a cardiac ablation within the next month and I just want to see from people who have had it what are some of the things I can do in preparation for it or to ask the doctor to do for me to make it painless and recuperate without anxiety!

Pacemaker and AV Node ablation? Mini-maze?
Just returned from visit to EP here in Scotland. Having taken myself off of Amiodarone (200mg) and Bisoprolol (10mg) and Ramipril(5mg) back in the Spring of this year because they weren’t bringing my rate down below 120, I initiated lifestyle changes, increased supplements including high dose magnesium
