I am pacemaker dependant having had an av node ablation. Having given up all alcohol, which I used to really enjoy I have very infrequent episodes of AF. I have replaced my Gin and Tonic with a non alcoholic spirit and sugar free tonic. However, I have just heard that I should not be having tonic

Migraine after catheter ablation
I had my ablation two weeks ago. I was ill the next morning, didn't feel like eating normally for four days and had an attack of migraine every single day for eleven days, some were worse than others. I thought it was just me and I ended up in A&E on the fifth day. I was given Sumatriptan tablets.

Vagus nerve damage
Hello, I had a cardiac ablation for svt in January of 2020 and unfortunately havent been the same since. I've had acid reflux like symptoms that were extensively tested and found to be hypersensitive esophagus nerves. I've also had other symptoms like chest pain, palpitations, and shortness of breath

Feeling fatigue and lightheaded after ablation
I had a pulmonary vein
catheter
ablation
6 weeks ago and all was relatively well till about week 4. For the last 2 weeks I feel fatigue and lightheaded is this expected during healing?

Ablation Date
Just thought I'd write to voice my admiration for the NHS. I've just been given a date for my second Cardiac Ablation - 17th November 2020. The first procedure made me symptom free for almost 5 years before I started getting arrhythmia again - so in my case, it clearly works well. I was told the waiting

Wolf Parkinson White - should I have an ablation?
However, I was recommended to have an EP investigation and then if deemed necessary a
catheter
ablation
at the same time. On balance this was stated by the consultant as less risky (a 1% chance of serious complications with the ablation).

Well yesterday at 8am I was in Edinburgh hospital first on the list , my nerves were in tatters , first they made sure my pacemaker was settled which was fitted 6 weeks ago , all well , I was in full AF and my HR was all over the place , when the dr came to speak to me he said not to worry , that it

Worried about the way forward
Awaiting contact from Cardiologist- may need
catheter
ablation
procedure- anyone out there had this done? Afib nurse said with my symptoms and test results so far ablation maybe treatment plan option- I am scared as symptoms all came on so suddenly.

Slight Irregular heartbeat
After av node ablation and pacemaker, I still have a slightly irregular heart beat at times. Does that mean my ventricles are still working a little on their own? It may be PVC's.

Heart failure?
I thought the standard procedure for diagnosing heart failure was the BNP blood test. My understanding after reading the NICE guidelines, is that you can have heart failure with a perfectly ok ejection fraction. If that is the case then surely the BNP test is a crucial part of the jigsaw. Why is heart

Why do some people develop HF after av node ablation and pacemaker and some don't. They say about 40% do.
Hi, I am new. I had an av node ablation and pacemaker two months ago and feel really good. I was not informed of the possibility of developing AF at the time or about the biventricular pacemaker which I did not get. What determines why some people get it and some do not. How does the EP determine

Pacemaker update
I had a telephone conversation with my cardiologist yesterday to discuss next step in treatment for AF. After several cardioversions 2 ablations and high doses of medication for rate control he has suggested 3 alternatives. 1) another ablation 2) a biventricular pacemaker with av node ablation. 3) a

Hi I had a cardiac ablation for Atrial Fibrillation almost 10 years ago which worked really well. However I have been having since April this year runs of SVT leading on to fast AF. I spent an overnight stay in hospital recently. Had to have Amniodorone IV to convert me back to sinus rhythm. I was

New Here - From Afib to now PE Second time around
Fit and pretty healthy 65 year old guy trying to figure out why I have now had my second PE 4 years apart. Keeping my Afib controlled without any meds after cardiac ablation 4 years ago but after second knee surgery months later I was admitted to Hospital for Bilateral Embolism and now on Eliquis blood

Why do people have multiple ablations?
Before I had my ablation I was told that the success rate was 70%, so for 30% of people it didn't work at all or maybe it didn't work perfectly and they would need one or more procedures. Presumably that is because not all of the electrical signals were found but maybe not. Maybe it only worked for

Bradycardia - ¿Atria working?
My atria have been
catheter
ablation
-ed, so they do not fibrillate (much) - but do they work? When I had a new pacemaker, they installed an addition atrial lead, and the atria are now paced - and this atria-paced ECG looks different to the ventricle paced ECGs.

Fast heart rate after ablation for atrial tachycardia
Hi there, I had a
catheter
ablation
for atrial tachycardia on Friday last week. The tachycardia I was experiencing had been exclusively brought on by exercise, particularly running.
