3 weeks ago yesterday since my PM was fitted , my wound is healing nicely . ,I just got a letter from the hospital to say I will have a telephone consultation on the 7/10/20 . My worry there is that since the pm was fitted and I went home next day my heart rate is anything from 60 -90-102-then back to 70 , all day long I can feel it , feels like it’s having a dance in my chest . I was wondering if anyone knows that once I get the AV node ablation it might sort this out ..I have phone the dr this morning so will get a telephone consultation from him , just the local dr ...on the up side my heart rate has not gone up into the higher numbers since got my pm in ...thanks all ..

Hi Betty - sounds as though you are doing ok. Firstly my HR was all over the place in the beginning - I put it down to my heart protesting loudly at being poked & prodded. It took about 6 weeks to settle.

Second - the point of AV node ablation is to control your pulse so yes it will leave you with an even pulse BUT you may still feel activity in the atria in the form of palpitations.

I think that’s an improvement, my HR varies much more than that. Thanks for the updates, I am finding them very interesting and informative 💜

Yes pace and ablate sorted me out

Still feel it occasionally but doesn’t bother me at all

I had a pace and ablate in the last 10 weeks and my heartbeat paces from 77 to 89 and my BP is on the high side, I had a telephone consultation with my cardiologist last week and he wasn’t worried , so if he isn’t I’m not , hope you get some comfort from this forum .
