Have most people had good results with AV node ablation and pacemaker?

Depends upon what you mean by ‘good results’? Pace and Ablate doesn’t stop AF.

Pacemaker paces the ventricles and the ablation of the AV node severs the connection between the atria and the ventricles resulting in atria still quivering away and you still feeling palpitations but your pulse remains steady so you should feel an improvement in QOL ie: less breathless, less fatigue but your heart is still not functioning 100% so it’s not a ‘cure’ and everyone reacts very differently.

In my case the PM (resynchronisation therapy) alone helped so much that I cancelled the AV node ablation and I haven’t had significant arrythmias since implantation June 2018.

Very interested as after my third ablation last week this was mentioned as possibly the next step for me.
