TOE clear!
He said I'm an ideal candidate for a CA (
Catheter
Ablation
) and the success rate for this procedure is very high. I'll be referred for this at a later date. Otherwise, general advice: eat healthily, exercise, minimal alcohol. To add re: sedation before TOE: sedation IS optional.

Why still so breathless 6 weeks after ablation?
I had my 2nd
catheter
ablation
almost 6 weeks ago now. I had persistent AF which made me very breathless when walking even short distances and especially going up stairs/any incline (I was pretty fit pre-AF and did lots of walking, some gym etc).

Woo hoo heart surgery 🫀
Asking for anyone’s experience of surgical
ablation
as opposed to
catheter
ablation
? Was told yesterday by cardiologist that my case has been reviewed by local teaching hospital with the EP team & they hope to do a surgical ablation (if I want it).

How long does the effect of having a catheter ablation last?
ablation
last once the AF is under control following the proceedure. To date i have never really seen the necessity to go for the op if i can manage without it,however i am not keen on taking anticoagulants which i will definitely have to take in 3 or so years time,so i would like to know when people

Atrial Myopathy vs. AF
Should be of particular interest to those having had a successful
catheter
ablation
and are on the fence about continued anti-coagulation. Be advised: Article is quite technical, but you can still glean a lot of useful info despite this.

It's been 7 months and no period since laparoscopy?
Hi all, I had a laparoscopy complete with some endometrial ablation and two dosages of an injection (decapeptyl, two dosages, 3 months apart) that i was informed was meant to compliment what i had done and keep the endometrial tissue from regrowing for a while. Should i be worried? I am not sexually

High heart rate post-ablation
I had a cardiac ablation for both AF and flutter 4 weeks ago. Recovery has been pretty smooth; one episode at 10 days where i had a heart rate of like 150 bpm for 4 hours, but it settled on its own. at 2 week check-up, EKG showed no sign of AF, but some flutter. my EP added amioderone to the metropolol

SVT treatment
The results lead the consultant to diagnose SVT and the recommendation is
catheter
ablation
. I have been told that the procedure has some small associated risks and if things did not go well I would need a pacemaker.

Recent ‘Pace & Ablate’
Had the two procedures done a month apart. AV node ablation done on August 4th. Super good and fast recovery. Wonderful to have normal heart rhythm after a year of constant Afib, tiredness and shortness of breath. So thankful to the Afib Clinic staff of St. Paul’s Hospital.

AV NODE ABLATION
Has anyone had one of these? It has been recommended to me by Cardiologist but means the pacemaker takes over the role of keeping me alive.

Is this phrenic nerve damage?
Hi all I had
catheter
ablation
for AF last July ( UK - NHS). Whole thing was a dogs dinner, the pain was unbelievable. In the evening had spectacular hiccups and terrible reflux - had to sleep on my back propped up on pillows or drown in my last meal.
