Short of breath
Since my last
cardioversion
2 weeks ago I am in sinus rhythm but am aware of every heart beat and feel short of breath. My last fast AF was brought on by swimming which has never happened before I had been swimming 2 miles a week with no ill effects prior to this episode.

Feeling sick all day, possible drug/alcohol interactions?
Anyway I had an unsuccessful
Cardioversion
last Friday and so have started 200mg Amiodarone 3 times a day from last Tuesday. I went to my Dads for dinner last night and had more than a couple of glasses of red wine - today though I have felt nauseated all day!

Another episode....
Taken my meds as normal and my warfarin etc.... really don't want to have to go through another
Cardioversion
.... but in 14 hours the fluttering hasn't really settled for more than a few minutes. I'll keep you posted!

Unsuccessful Cardioversion
After seeing a cardiologist it was decided that I would be booked in for electro
cardioversion
to reset natural rhythm. Anyway, yesterday was D Day, so I went in as instructed at noon. The procedure finally got underway at about 4:30 but from there it went to ****.

Just had my 3rd fast AF event in 8weeks requiring chemical
cardioversion
with fleicanide IV. I never know how long to leave my very irregular and fast heart beat before I go to A/E . I am now home and resting.

Cardioversion at 90+ necessary or not? An English friend has her elderly (English) parents living with her, here in Italy.
Her father has been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation and her GP has arranged for him to have a
cardioversion
next month, as she "doesn't like giving Warfarin to elderly patients because of the risk of falling and bleeding".

Apparently the thinking behind this is that
cardioversion
at this stage might dislodge a clot with bad consequences. So, he was sent home, still in a fib, as they didn't give him any medication either! At this point, I was more than puzzled.

Dabigatran side effects?
I had
cardioversion
last week and as far as rhythm goes all is fine. However I am actually feeling worse now than I did before! I was taken straight off bisoprolol after the cv and am now just on 150mg Dabigatran twice a day.

My Different Outlook on Ablations
I was hospitalised several times and finally when all else failed (even a
cardioversion
) prescribed Amiodarone (hated taking that). I eagerly awaited a second ablation, thinking that would make me better. I had that in June 2013 and the procedure lasted 6 hrs.

Cardioversion
I had
cardioversion
last week and went back into sinus rhythm and was so happy and felt great but this morning I flipped back into AF. I am on 50mg x 2 flecanide, 125 mg of digoxin and 200mg dilitiazem and 20mg of the new rivaroxiban. I had a successful
cardioversion
in 2012 for five months.

Off to the GP - this has gone on too long!
My worry is
cardioversion
, I am terrified to say the least! I know they are going to offer me that as they did the last time I was hospitalised but I felt that it was a drastic procedure that I did not fully understand so I refused it!

Had my cardioversion this morning
All went well and am now back in NSR, feels strange not to feel my heartbeat and afraid to do anything now in case it goes out again. Rate is very low at the moment around 50 bpm and have to reduce bisoprolol to 2.5 mg daily. I am wondering why they have not put me back on a rhythm control drug as I
