Role of the adrenals in my tremor and dopamine deficiency
I am wondering if I am alone in being aware of the connection between my adrenals and my dopamine deficiency and resulting tremors. I’d appreciate all feedback, whether academic or incidental. Firstly, I definitely have a dopamine deficiency because my dexterity can return to perfect for the small windows

“How Does Deep Brain Stimulation Change the Course of Parkinson's Disease?”
This very recent (May 2022) review was posted elsewhere (FB) and after reading it myself (it's open access) I thought it worth re-posting here on HU - for those interested in learning more on long-term DBS outcomes. https://movementdisorders.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/mds.29052?fbclid=IwAR3EaJVE5QUEQ165u7wKsneu2V3JHhs36YuQCiRHxjSrbhUXHTkr31qCafU

levodopa and sleep
I've been struggling with sleep for a couple of years (actually a couple of decades, but it got worse a couple of years ago. after going down the medication hole (with no lasting help) I remembered that a couple of folks had mentioned here that reducing bedtime levodopa helped with sleep. I cut back

Levodopa Overmedication – Common, Unrecognized, Devastating
Dystonia – muscle tightness – is a common symptom of Parkinson's. It can also be a symptom of levodopa overmedication. The only study I could find of this phenomenon was done in 1999 and received very little notice from the medical community: http://bbs.neuro.or.kr/space/journal/1999/9904010.pdf As

Husband so sick but not sure what’s going on
Hi this is my first time posting but I’ve been reading for a long time and I’m hoping someone here can shed light on what’s happening to my husband. He was diagnosed in 2013 with early onset (age 57) idiopathic Parkinson’s (rigidity and no tremors) and put on Sinemet and had two months of feeling better

Question about levodopa/carbidopa
So it only remains to me to try
Levodopa
/
Carbidopa
starting with a low dosage. Did someone experience the same situation, even tried high doses of mucuna without any result and got relief only with L/C? If I no had relief even trying L/C for 2 or 3 months, may I stop it?

sinemet and mucuna pruriens
Dear Comunity I am anxious about my mother age 76. She is taking 6 tbl. of sinemet a day. I found out that Mucuna Pruriens is an option. I was able to find MP with 15% of L-Dopa. How to use it ? Thanks for helping.

Should I get BOTOX shot in my feet for PD feet/toes curling?
I take 9-10 tablets of
Carbidopa
/
Levodopa
25/100 every day to manage, My Movement Disorders Specialist/Doctor suggested botox years ago but I have resisted due to my fear of botox circulating in my body. Has anyone tried this intervention?

Parkinson’s and eyes
Yesterday, I had an eye test and my vision has improved. This is great but I spent a lot of money on some new glasses last year because my vision and had declined. I have poor eyesight and wear complex lenses. Looking at the times of each eye test, last years was done first thing in the morning and

dyskinesia and dystonia
hello Am I right that dyskinesia (involuntary movement) of eg mouth and tongue may be caused by either PD symptoms getting worse or a side effect of L-Dopa medication? How do you know which it is? Could someone provide me with a lay person’s definition of the difference between dystonia and dyskinesia

Levodopa and food: slows uptake but gives you more in the long run?
According to FDA prescribing information: "In healthy adults, oral administration of Rytary after a high-fat, high-calorie meal reduced Cmax approximately 21% and increased AUCinf approximately 13% for levodopa compared to administration in the fasted state. There may be a delay by 2 hours in the absorption
