Hi to the forum members. It's been awhile, hope all is well with everyone. I'm a male in my mid 50s who has had PD for 5 years. My main symptom that can become problematic is when my feet/toes start to curl in, and in extreme circumstances, the toes just curl back in forth or the feet curl in, either which of course can become a little painful. I take 9-10 tablets of Carbidopa/Levodopa 25/100 every day to manage, My Movement Disorders Specialist/Doctor suggested botox years ago but I have resisted due to my fear of botox circulating in my body. Has anyone tried this intervention?

Should I get BOTOX shot in my feet for PD feet/toes curling?
Hi Wollaston, I’ve had PD for 10 years and have been getting Botox shots for about 6-7 years. I’m a runner and it helped me extremely well, but remember it doesn’t work for everyone and you have to get the injections about every 3 months because it wears off. I stopped getting the injections before my DBS surgery ( that I had last November) because I wanted to see how everything worked after DBS. Unfortunately, it seems that I may still need the injections, I am still having some issues with my foot but nothing as it was before. Make sure your insurance covers it first because it is expensive. Take care and remember the injections are not permanent so it’s worth a try. Karen
Thank you for responding! I did want to ask....do the shots in your feet hurt? Seems like it would...I sound like a scaredy-cat!!
In my lower leg and ankle, it’s not too bad, however the bottom of my foot hurts a little more but only for a short while. It really is worth a try and if it works for you, Hurray! Karen
I get it in my calves and feet every 3 months, I couldn't do Without it, my calves cramps are painful , they don't cramp now,
Thanks for responding, and sounds like your botox shots are going well, that's great! I will likely give it a shot (no pun intended haha) and see how it works. I've been dealing with these symptoms for so long that I can barely remember my life without these sometimes painful toe/foot curling symptoms. Botox would be a wonder remedy for me if it worked, although I realize it's only temporary, but oh well...
Barefooting and stretching my toes help me.
I have been getting Botox injections in my foot for over a year now. They do help my toes not to cramp and curl if I get it every 3 months. I haven’t had one for too long now due to some problems with my insurance and my doctors schedule. I don’t think it is very painful. Reminds me of a dental injection. A pinch then a burn and that’s it.
I get botox for tremor in my left arm. The pain is minor minor and only lasts a moment. It's worth it to not being awakened by my hand slapping me in my face every morning.
I got Botox shots in my focal dystonia areas including my leg and ever since then I have dystonia in my leg and it’s horrible. I’m afraid to get any more Botox shots.
