EBRT SE after Brachytherapy
Well, I can say the last 3 weeks after brachytherapy have been, medically, the worst of my entire life. QOL was poor at best. Maybe I have lived a sheltered life all these years and didn’t know what it is like to really be ill or have medical issues. I do now. Brachytherapy dose was 85 Gy, 60 seeds.

Colon cancer after CLL diagnosis
Things were going so well. At 63 and while living in France for a work contract, my husband, who already has HF low EF (which I managed to improve recently to an EF of 43%) and who has always been in excellent shape with diet and physical exercise, was diagnosed with CLL in the spring of 2023 . We

High volume, advanced metastatic prostate cancer
Hello. I am looking for guidance. My dad (now 81) was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer at the initial point of diagnosis in the ER on 10/25/2022. It had spread to 8 bones and was all over his spine, hip, base of skull, etc, but also as far as the base of the skull, and shoulder. His PSA was

Bells Palsy that never was
Hi all, I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was diagnosed with Bells Palsy', and put on prednisolone for 10 days, it didn't work, and I was sent to an ENT man, who did an MRI which confirmed that I did not have the Bells Palsy, but they found a small tumour active and moving in my left facial area. What category of Intermediate Risk Am I?
I am trying to make a decision regarding HT with RT. I am 78. I have CKD 3b, and a solitary kidney. I am 6.5 years in remission from UTUC kidney cancer. A number of papers indicate that HT could be detrimental to my kidney. Those with FIR PCa could avoid HT with little risk. The following is defined

Oncolytic Virotherapy Platform Designed to Target All Tumor Sites: we will have some news soon, oncolytics are very promising (CLD-201)

Clinical Trial with Abemaciclib and Olaparib
Hey Queens! I am reaching out to see if anyone is participating in this clinical trial. I am having a hard time deciding if this is a “favorable” option for me. I’d love to get some type of feedback from an actual patient. It’s fairly new, so any findings seem impossible to come by. Also, I’

Reaction when first diagnosed with APCa
When I heard I had APCa I was not happy of course, but also not surprised too much since it runs heavy in my family. It took a while to realize it was the first day of the rest of my life, And if I didn't make some changes it could be a short one. I went mostly vegetarian, committed to daily exercise

Orserdu
After almost 6 years of being stable on Ibrance and letrozole I now have some very small progression into both my hips. My initial metastatic disease was in my lungs. I also tested positive for a mutation that frequently happens. That being said I am eligible to take the brand new drug Orserdu/elacestrant

So my MO scheduled a PSMA PET 2 weeks after the end of my EBRT. I didn't argue and did it. Im seeing her tomorrow and will ask why. Maybe she forgot I did radiation?? Ill ask for another in 3 months. Meanwhile, the report shows the lymph node is now mild uptake SUV 2.5 MAX. It was intensely radiotracer

Results from trans rectal bipsy
I had spent a week in the hospital from the sepsis from the transrectal biopsy. Back home with a midline for an afternoon IV for the next week. Strike one against my Dr. who poo-pooed the transperineal. The results were that there was cancer but still within the prostate capsule - stage 2. The doc.

Neuroendocrine prostate cancer could be restored to a state that responds to treatment
[i]It may be possible to restore drug-resistant neuroendocrine prostate cancer to a state that responds to treatment by depletion of a certain protein in cancer cells. A recent study published in Communications Biology by the University of Eastern Finland found that this protein, DPYSL5, is expressed

ibrance
I’ve been taking ibrance with faslodex since 2018. I had to stop taking ibrance because of hospitalization (3) for infections that I needed my immune system to fight. Probably 6 months. In that time I developed nodules (small) in bowel, pelvis and cervical 2. I was taken off both ibrance and faslodex
