First I rang Macmillan and they thought it very odd my cancer had gone from high to low.
So rang my consultants secretary and she was not there, the people in charge said they were not qualified to help.
I saw my GP today and like myself had a letter with no details at the top, this matters because I would have known what was what.
She was able to look at my notes and confirmed the Cystoscopy in June showed most of the quadrants with no tumour - Hence the change from high grade to low grade.
Doctor told me I would not be left with nothing once BCG had finished, I would have regular Cystoscopy's and anything found zapped - I have had that happen before.
I still have BC but at the moment it is low grade -and other treatments could be tried.
With regards to the Cystectomy (Bladder removal) she said that now would only be an option if it spread into my bladder muscle.
She is even sending me for a back X ray even though I have had a bad back for a long while, to eliminate that being a BC Symptom. She think's it worsening spondylitis.
So a very worthwhile visit to GP - I really am sorry i posted such a downer last time, while other people on here are ill also... Thank you all for the support I recieved.
I am posting a painting probably on 23rd December - A new project for me,

Iโm so pleased you had a good visit with your GP. Itโs good to speak with someone and get to the bottom of things at least partly. Iโm keeping everything crossed for you and wishing you better days ahead.
Youโre entitled to be down as you have a lot to deal with. Weโre here to support you Ern.
Canโt wait to see your painting on the 23rd as itโs a very good day for me. Iโll be another year older.
Thank you Carole. It was a good visit - She listens. She looked into my hospital notes and explained what probably will happen post BCG. The nurse at hospital though nice enough seems to give half a story, anyway Thursday my last treatment for this year, no eye injection either until new year, so a clear run to Christmas.
I know people on here are fantastic. ill themselves but always ready with support. I appreciate being a member.
I have picked the 23rd as the 24th people will be busy with Christmas, i thought I would try something I have never done before, I love a challenge.
I hope you have a lovely time on your birthday, what a nice month to have a birthday in. I am a Leo .๐ xxx
Thank you Dottie11 - GP Makes a lot of difference, when i first had COPD and Angina, my town doctor was really good, but then he retired, never was the same again until the village move x
We have to plod on with Cancer - We have it. I don't mind a CT Scan, I hate the contrast when I have had to have that. Good luck with you scan Jan and hope you are able to have a good Christmas, you take care jan xxx
Thanks Ern. I'm not a big fan of contrast dyes ๐! I think we both have to do what we have to do though. I'm just thankful for modern day treatments. Thinking of you Ern. Your paintings make a great difference to me and lots of others on this forum.
Yes we need the scans as bad as they are with contrast. As you say - We have these to do and are glad of modern treatments. Painting is addictive and really glad it can make a difference. I am at my easel now glad I am not outdoors in the wind and rain.
Thanks Alberta. I just wanted Ern to know that he's not alone with all this cancer treatment stuff!! I'll report back when I have my scan date. Weirdly, I've had a letter with a date in February 2024 to discuss the results of the scan !!!๐ xxxx
Thank you. I was on a downer - Not often but this was one situation I did not cope well with. I tried all week to find answers, I at last did today. I guess as you say we all have downers from time to time and again, as you say it passes. I am feeling better but tired after this week, will not stop me having a bit of the amber liquid tonight though. take Care,
that sounds like a good GP. It is such a blessing when you get a good doctor. I hope the X-ray goes ok. Iโm looking forward to seeing your new painting on the 23rd. Thank you!
Yes she makes time when you go and see her, she sorts things out what hospital have neglected, my Thyroid consultant, never seen them for years, she sorts that out. I am painting something a bit different for the 23rd, never tried this before. It's fun to do HH.
Hi Ern, well that sounds a lot more positive doesnโt it. Thank goodness for your GP, sheโs a star! Itโs quite understandable why you would have been feeling down before, given the very confusing messages you had from the hospital. Not knowing where you stand and what youโre dealing with is very demoralising. Iโm very pleased things are looking brighter for you now.
Intrigued and looking forward to seeing your new work on the 23rd๐ x
So glad your mind is put at ease after your GP visit. We are here to moan, rant, laugh and share experiences Ern so donโt apologise. Worry can eat away at us so always good to share them. Take care and enjoy Christmas x
Well this visit was so much better Ern and has left you with a clearer picture, thank goodness you have such a good gp. You can now relax and have a better Christmas, rest up and catch up on much needed sleep x
Hey, nobody would say anything if you posted a downer, that's what we are all here for. Information, support as best any of us can give and chit chat. I am so happy you are in a better place at the moment as that's really good news. Couldn't come at a better time. Hope you enjoy Christmas ๐ and things keep going good for you ๐
Your meeting with your GP is very good and pleasing, hope this helpful attitude lasts. Just what you need as we head up to Xmas, New Year Hollidays. Best wishes, Jean x
Hi Ern ๐โโ๏ธ. Glad you had a proactive appointment with your GP ๐. Never feel sorry for your posts you have so many thing to cope with, anybody would find it hard to deal with them as well as you do. You still do the things that are relaxing for you (painting ) whereas you could have given up even trying to help yourself. Looking forward to your painting on 23rd ๐xxx
So pleased that you got more positive news from your G.P. Long may it continue as long as you feel well enough in yourself. I have always said its about Quality of life above everything else. Take care. Brian
Donโt feel you need to apologise for any of your posts. Iโm in awe of you the way you understand what is going on. Great news about the bc - makes all that treatment worthwhile. I sympathise with the back pain.
Quite understandable if you have the occasional downer- you have so much to cope with- but very glad you've climbed out of it. Bless your doctor. Look forward to the painting. xxxx
