Alternatives to Adcal
Hi I responded badly to Adcal and my GP said there would be enough
calcium
in my diet. I take vitD and K2 plus multi vitamin daily and I’m on 8mgs Pred. However, I’ve been on a bio-sulphate for over three years and want to stop. Any suggestions as to another kind of
calcium
I could take? Thanks!

autophagy: Surprising insights
When the scientists used a genetic trick to switch off autophagy-mediated cellular waste disposal, instead of detecting protein deposits, as expected, they found elevated levels of the endoplasmic reticulum, a system composed of membrane sacs which acts, among other functions, as a

store.

Questions around thyroxine/life after total thyroidectomy, 4 days post-op !
I understand this is something to look out for because of low
calcium
, but I mentioned it to both my surgeon and endocrinologist earlier and they both said my levels were totally fine even after running another blood test so they don't know what's causing it. Should I bring it up again?

Would Valium affect my blood test for an under or over active thyroid ?
Hi, I was prescribed Valium just to relax me for a few days but I got a test to see if I’ve an Uber or over active thyroid. I am just wonder if the Valium will affect my results. Tuesday night I took 10mg of of Valium. Then I got a blood test Thursday morning at 8.30am. Is it possible it could damage

Can anyone help me with what to say, and what tests to ask for, at my cardiology appointment?
I had a clear CT Cardiac Cor artery
calcium
scoring. My symptoms are sometimes in isolation and sometimes at the same time, most often mild, but sometimes worse and worrying. The worst incidents happen at night where I am woken up by symptoms, where many happen simultaneously.

Health Anxiety
Hello, I'm a 70 yr old woman with severe health anxiety which I've had since I was 10. I have had therapy and have been on antidepressants for probably 15 years. Also valium as needed, but lately things have really gotten out of hand. I am jittery inside, have occasional myoclonic jerks, and I am convinced

Prolia vs. alternative vs. Forteo?
I am exercising now, and taking a Vit D/
calcium
supplement and am very willing to do whatever it takes NOT to go on medicine. She originally told me about Forteo--but she also said the insurance probably won't pay for it. Prolia sounds quite dreadful--has anyone had a good experience on it?

Study finds over 80 percent of COVID-19 patients have vitamin D deficiency.
Vitamin D is a hormone the kidneys produce that controls blood
calcium
concentration and impacts the immune system. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to a variety of health concerns, although research is still underway into why the hormone impacts other systems of the body.

Don't want to read studies on Google Scholar, but want to know everything about Dr. Laurie Mishley's practice?
While you are at it, drop cheap cheese, canned fruits and vegetables, soda, and, yes, red meat, processed meat and yogurt. 7)
calcium
supplements may be a no-no. 8) and so on and so forth. https://parkinsonsnewstoday.com/forums/forums/topic/naturopathic-medicine-for-people-with-pd-dr-mischley/

Are My Vit D Levels Low Due to Parathyroid? Further Questions
Calcium
within normal range. Thyroid Perox Antibodies were 32.4 U/mL. Repeat bloods last week showed parathyroid hormone as 9.7 (norm is 1.6 - 7.5), Vit D - 53,
Calcium
2.42 mmol/L (norm is 2.20 - 2.60). So parathyroid/
calcium
/Vit D are all ok (parathyroid slighty high).

Are My Vit D Levels Low Due to Parathyroid?
Should my parathyroid levels be rechecked or only rechecked if
calcium
is high? I'll ask for the
calcium
to be rechecked before I start taking theical-D3. It looks like they put me on theical-d3 on the basis of the neck scan.

Low Calcium levels
Hi, I have had three lots of blood tests now all with low
Calcium
in the blood. I’m not sure what it means as I haven’t seen a consultant yet. I’m a 54 year old male, anyone got any ideas? I’m told that they checked my parathyroid glands and that they were normal. Confused?
