On 45mg Prednisolone. Doc just told me to miss a day.
I'm so frightened. I have got totally confused. Confusion started when I got diagnosed with GCA and put on Prednisolone 50 mg, along with Apixaban, Lanzoprazole, coleocalciferol, something that's vit D complex plus calcium (forgotton the name), simavastin and Bisoprolol. Then I had afall, got taken

blood tests and zoledronic acid infusions
I recently asked for a blood test in-between my zoledronic acid infusions to see how my calcium levels are, I got a text from a gp to say that I only need a blood test 2-7 days prior to my infusion, it's good to know if I am still absorbing calcium I do not take a calcium supplement,

blood tests while on zoledronic acid infusion.
I recently asked for regular blood tests while on zoledronic acid infusions, a gp sent me a text to say that I only need blood tests a week before the next infusion, I wanted to see if my calcium levels were ok in-between infusions, but no.

Just an offload really: I woke up today (AA day) and decided not to take it. I’ve just been reading previous posts on here and ive found it pretty scary to read that once stopping taking it, it can stay in your system for 10 yrs. That’s frightening stuff. I was diagnosed over the phone withPMR

Does anyone know why, in people using NDT, the TSH readings tend to be very low, even when the T4 and T3 are within normal ranges? My GP is concerned that my low TSH readings mean I am at risk of osteoporosis, but since I am not hyperthyroid I don't understand why. My T4 and T3 are within reference

Good diet so no need for Adcal?
I asked my GP (again!)about taking Adcal and explained that a lot of people on this forum were automatically prescribed it when put on steroids. GP asked about my diet and said I was getting plenty of calcium in my diet. He said calcium and Vitamin D levels were good on my last blood test and the DEXA

Bisphosphonates
hi everyone! I have been diagnosed about 6 months ago with osteoporosis, I am 65. I saw a rheumatologist and he prescribed adcal d3 caplets and Risedronate . Initially I had a few side effects , mainly gastro as I have a sensitive stomach anyway and some bowel issues which have eased. I wanted to ask

Is calcium supplement necessary if one takes Denusomab ?
Dad has normal calcium levels in his blood tests. He has taken one dose of Denusomab 60 mg and has to take it every six months. He also had osteoporosis in some parts. The doctors write 1000 mg calcium to take daily but is that necessary if one has normal serum levels ?

parathyroidectomy can this halt osteoporosis
Hi I have osteoporosis which was diagnosed following breaking my ankle. I was then diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism following high calcium in bloods. I had a parathyroidectomy following which calcium levels returned to normal in blood. My surgeon told me that the operation should also halt my osteoporosis

Emphysema and Osteoporosis
Hi Everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I just wanted to ask if anyone has both emphysema and osteoporosis? If so, would you mind telling me what maintenance inhaler you use and what medication have you been prescribed for osteoporosis. I'm on Trimbow and not very happy about it, but don't know

Just a quicky
Hello chaps and chapesses.Hope all is good. Just wondered, has anyone used Lindens Health and Nutrition supplements? My thyroid check blood test showed my Vit D had dropped to 34 (usually in the 50s taking Ad Cal) which may explain why I've felt like I've been walking through treacle for the past few

hi everyone!!! I finally got my enlarged thyroid removed on 8/1/24 and all went well, thank the Lord ! And my wonderful surgeon and support staff! I’m fine. Really?
Brain fog is a brilliant description that no one can really understand until they experience it. I feel like my brain is surrounded by a thick cotton wool-like layer that makes me want to just lie down and close my eyes - except that makes me dizzy. What the heck is happening to me? I’m 65 and moved

What's my BMI now?
I was 5ft 8inches last year, now I'm 5ft 4. I always carried a bit of extra weight, but never bothered too much. However if I calculate it at my new height, it willbe horrendous! I'm already struggling with kyphosis, stomach protrusion, and body image. I have stayed a steady weight the past 7 months,

Should I increase my dose of Levo?
My potted history is in my profile. My current predicament is that after 7 months of feeling awful, on 5th July I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (I could have told them earlier myself!), given Levothyroxine by the endocrinologist (50 micrograms per day), who said would test me again in two months.
