Low Potassium/High Calcium Caution
Hi Guys I had a mineral check via a hair test and a DNA Methylation report via a mouth swab (corrected 16 June as I had them the wrong way round) as suggested by a nutritionist who has been helping me sort my gut and auto-immune issues. I wasn't expecting much ... but how lovely to be pleasantly surprised

Hike in T-Score due to steroid use. Worrying.
Hi All, just yesterday I finally got results from my DEXA .scan which I had done on 3rd of April. My T Score was T-2.3 (osteopina). My last DEXA scan showed my T-Score as -1.7 and deemed to be ok. This is quite a hike and I'm quite upset by i seeing that T-2.5 is Osteoporosis. I am Prednisolone

Hyperparathyroidism and Bones
I had primary hyperthyroidism in 2014 with two adenomas removed. It's been a long time since I've had my PTH level checked. I was reading that you should have ongoing annual check-ups of calcium and PTH levels to detect any long-term changes or recurrence of hyperparathyroidism. I feel fine and don't

Newly diagnosed with PMR and thank you for all the info here
Hi everyone, I received a firm-ish diagnosis of PMR this morning, after a 1-week trial on prednisone that greatly reduced my symptoms. I’d say I’m about 60 to 70% better compared to a week ago, if one can really assign numbers to such things. I still have a slight burning in my arms but not painful

Anyone have an opinion on this issue as I prepare to see a MO?
Could the PET/CT SCAN have read the high glucose in my system as met pelvic lymph nodes and met bone? Just asking since I was looking over my medical records for the last 10 years and the calcium number has always been in the mid-range, but the glucose has always been very high. (I am a type 2 diabetic

Could MCAS a possibility?
Hello everyone, I have been wondering for a while if I could have MACS. Last year I was diagnosed with a Raw Pecan allergy, borderline brazil and salami allergy through raw food skin to skin prick testing and given epi pens. My immunologist at the time did not want to risk it as I have asthma and

Which medicine is messing with my thyroid med uptake
Might anyone be able to suggest which of my other meds has affected my thyroid med uptake (100mcg thyroxine and 2x5mcg t3)? I was prescribed digoxin, furosemide and bisoprolol after having open heart surgery 3 mths ago to resolve some anatomical defects. Uptil that point thyroid levels were stable

Hi my name is Babs! im still figuring out how to use this site but I can’t say enough how unfortunately happy I was to find other ppl who are dealing with this also! Mine started about six months ago when I started weaning down on my gabapentin. Then my thyroid started acting up, and it seemed like

Good morning everyone. Still warm and breathing, was locked out of my account and only just got back in. When I was first diagnosed with GCA I was on HRT I was told by the Rheumatologist that I should stay on it to protect my bones from the Prednisolone. My DEXA showed normal density probably due

What are the better treatments for metastasis of the bone and pelvic lymph nodes?
Just found out the past few weeks from a biopsy and a PET/CT scan that the cancer was not contained in the prostate but metastasized to the pelvic lymph nodes and the bones. Was a surprise to me and to the urologist as well. He is recommending no surgery but a multimodal therapy with androgen deprivation

Anyone diagnosed with Esophageal Spasms?
My GERD has taken a change for the worse and now experiencing what the gastro thinks are esophageal spasms, probably triggered by GERD. Very painful and they come and go in waves. Currently keeping them somewhat in check with the calcium channel blocker Diltiazem. Wondering if anyone else has this

Verapamil
Hello there. Quick question, I have read the literature on the tablet and posts, but can anyone tell me if Verapamil is categorised as a blood thinner. Sorry I know it’s a beta blocker but that’s calcium. I’m currently on other medication and I’m checking if they are working against each other

Calcium and Levothyroxine
I've heard that I must not have any Calcium intake four hours before and after taking Levothyroxine, as the calcium absorbs the drug, lessening its effectiveness. Has anybody else heard of this?

are CTx numbers supposed to be extremely under range while on prolia?
is that the point of anti resorptive? is P1NP supposed to be upper range on prolia, or lower range on prolia? my Mum's numbers are low. but the tests haven't been done for years, i don't think, and they were run within 3 months of prolia doses, so the ctx would be expected to be low? and Mum's

understanding test results
recently been told my b12 levels are on the low side and have had 4 out of my 5 loading doses. Just checked the rest of my blood test results and some of my levels are out of ref range. I don’t really understand them all. I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant if that changes anything. I feel pretty pants if

Flares trying to get from 9 mg to 8 mg
I got PMR in May 2023 and I was diagnosed in Sept 2023. I started on 20 mg and have tapered down to 9 with just one flare. I did a 5 week taper March 1st, trying to get from 9 to 8 mg, but at the end of the 5 week plan on an 8 mg dose, I started getting groin and hip pain and morning stiffness. I tried
