Dear all, Advice please. I was admitted to hospital last weekend with HBP 222/122. I had been taking Ramipril 5 mg for four weeks. Saw GP this week BP 180/110. He has prescribed a calcium channel blocker in addition to Ramipril 5 mg. I don't know what dose or name of the CCB yet as it has not yet

Inulin improves gut health in humans in part by stimulating the growth of beneficial bifidobacteria
I need smartypants to figure out if this inulin is good or bad please. https://selfhacked.com/blog/health-benefits-inulin/ Inulin is present in 36,000 plant species including those we consume in our daily diets such as wheat, onion, bananas, garlic, and asparagus. They are also found in less common foods

Alendronic acid or not?
Fifteen months ago when I started Pred, my GP insisted I took Alendronic acid to avoid osteoporosis. I asked for a Dexa scan first, which he refused, so I did not take Alend. acid . Today he has again put pressure on me to accept this medication. When I mentioned Dexa scan again he agreed this time

Is my panic negating the anesthetics?
I don't like the dentist I don't like the doctor I don't like the hairdresser. Anybody that comes at my face with sharp things I have serious issues with. Knowing this my primary care provider advised me to take a larger dose of Valium an hour before the appointment and when the appointment started.

X-ray showed 'borderline/early stage' arthritis in my hip. Can this be caused by B12D, be 'reversed, is it worth pushing for rheumatology?
I had xrays of left hip & right shoulder, ordered by GP. Just found out that the left hip apparently showed borderline, early stage arthritis changes. I'm 45. Ith my B12D I've had a lot of stiffness and feeling of being immobile, slow and inflexible, pains in legs, ankles, arms, elbows, hands, both

Gluten free fruit cake with ground almonds.
Hi everyone, Here’s a gluten free fruit cake that I made using almond flour and gf flour. Almonds are a great source of nutrients including calcium so by adding almonds and other calcium rich foods we can look after our bone density while we eat. Dried fruit is also a good source of calcium. Here’s

Man Who Recovered Using Meditation was on Terazosin?
Corrected (thanks park_bear), this guy was meditating, not using QiGong. So no sooner than I post about Meditation Guy (again), I'm re-reading the article (was surprised he was in Massachusetts) and see he was diagnosed with PD in 2000 and was on all the medications and and was recovered by 2013. Magnesium - Citrate AND threonate?
Hallo I’ve discovered the amazing benefits of magnesium citrate from this site…really helps with sleep and stomach. Have been reading about threonate being quite powerful in helping with brain fog. Is it okay to take both? Does anyone take both? Thank you 😊 Jo

Pred/adcal
Advice please - is it necessary to take Adcal when my bone profile shows good calcium levels? When I next speak to the Doc (in a months time!) Im going to ask him if he will prescribe me just Vit.D. I had supposedly high cholesterol when starting on Pred several months ago, even though no one told

Is it possible to take a biopsy of a cardiac artery plaque in order to determine exactly what it contains?
Hi All I was found to have, via CT Angiogram, in July 16, a very high Calcium Agatston score of 1315. I then had CABG in Feb 17 at age 66. The day before I asked if it was possible to do a biopsy of a plaque, to help in identifying what they contained. They said it was not possible. Is this correct?

Optimal testing regimen
With a PCa with aggressive features (GS9,low-PSA,intraductal,BRCA2+) apparently senescent for the time being, I need an aggressive monitoring regimen. Shortly meeting a doctor at an oncology department, I will as the most important tests ask for the following four, preferably every two months (CTC
