My husband had to get a shot this morning of Fulphila he had his first round of chemo yesterday the nurse said it’s for bone marrow and white blood cells. Have any of you had the injection, if so did you have any reactions? Last year my husband had an IV infusion of calcium it begins with the letter P I can’t recall the name of the medication. He ended up with a very high fever of almost 103. I’m just hoping this shot it’s not like that infusion. Praying no side effects.

Fulphila
It is used to increase the number of white blood cells. This is a link to info from the FDA about this drug:

The most frequent side effect (>5%) is bone pain
It seems to be similar to Neulasta (pegfilgrastim). It is often given along with an antihistamine (like Benadryl or Claritin) to prevent an allergic reaction.
I'm a little late to the party, but I will be getting my second dose/shot of fulphila tomorrow. There is a list of possible serious side effects, but my experience was the apparently most common, bone pain, which was nothing to sneeze at. It lasted five days. The claraitin/loatidine likely helped with allergic reactions, but also with pain for 6-8 hours. The rest of the day and night I alternated ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and tramadol. I hope he has been doing well with this. My white blood count was at the bottom end of normal yesterday when I had my second docetaxel infusion, so I guess it is worth doing. Best of luck.
