Paracetamol/codeine
I bought a couple of packs of paracetamol extra today without realising that the ‘extra’ was codeine. Is it OK to take them with Apixaban?

AF has arrived, ovulation tracking?!
Well just an update, AF arrived today (day 35/36 of cycle) wow, i am in so much pain its horrendous, had to take 2 codeine, was literally screaming in the car trying to drive home! All the pain is in my left side, which tbh I hadn’t noticed before they told me that my left tube is blocked. Can’t wait

My Endo who sent me for radioactive iodine whole body scan isn’t a Endocrinologist after all he’s a military medical intern who now works in pediatrics and I’m left without a doctor and have thyroid cancer recurrence. Can you believe this I even asked him you plan on sticking around here and he said

Endo bowel surgery and dissection.
Hey, I am new to this. I have been diagnosed with endometrioses now for around 8 years. I have had two previous surgeries, prostap injections in my stomach for 6 month which put me on the menopause to slow the growth down as mines fast growing. Numerous contraception's. So much pain relief but nothing

Dr Toft has retired.
Hello everyone. After six weeks of feeling very ill . Excruciatingly pain exhaustion migraine etc I decided to make a appointment with Dr Toft. Dr Toft has now retired and in his place is a lady called Dr A. Wow what a breath of fresh air. She treats on a person centred listen to the patient view.

Opinion on TENS Machine
Hi everyone, So unfortunately Codeine just isn't doing anything for me anymore except just making me high and tired. Pain relief is non-existant. I really don't want to go on tramadol or anything stronger as I just won't be able to do my job. I was thinking about trying a TENS Machine, and I have an

I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s a few years ago and was proscribed 25mg of Levothryoxine along with 50mg of Zoloft. I eventually upped to 50mg on the Levo and did fine until April of this year and was upped to 75mg as I had put on weight and was lacking iodine in my diet. (I’m still so new this

My situation (a rant)
Okay, so last year I had an operation that was meant to solve a long-standing pain-related gynae problem and I had 18 months of peace, and the only time it was problematic during a period, but I thought it was normal as I've always had painful periods. Something I never thought I'd get - that is of course

Extreme TRAB levels (2577 iu/L)
Extreme TRAB levels. Hello all. I am being treated for severe Graves disease. I had I131 treatment three months ago. Since then, my TRAB levels have increased to 2577 I/L (from 40 and 255 prior to iodine treatment. TRAB should be less than 0.55, so I am tracking at around 5000 times (the maximum) normal

Your thoughts.......part 2
The responses to part 1 were incredible and extremely helpful in enabling me to better understand the potential risks of having RAI treatment for hyperthyroidism. As some of you may know, I am actively involved with the AF Association forum which is significantly smaller than this one. However, like

Has anyone successfully treated an iodine deficiency please?
Hi I've been taking a drop of iodine as advised, for 6 months to correct an iodine deficiency (38). Just previous to that my FT4 was 16 and tsh 3.6ish, so I was considered borderline underactive thyroid. My iodine level has only raised to 41, so have managed to find a liquid that has different ingredients

Your thoughts please......
I know this is likely to be a question which is normally asked after other important issues have been considered, but at the moment, your thoughts would be welcome. I’m 73 and have AF, controlled by ablation and Flecainide as and when required. Since the late nineties, my TSH has hovered between 0.01

Pain relief
Hi guys! Im after some advise and guidance on pain relief, I have extreme pains including severe sciatica with my endometriosis. I tried a TENS machine but this made things worse and heat therapy is becoming less and less effective unless I'm burning my skin (more of a distraction from the pain). In

Pain relief for liver disease sufferer's.
Hi All, After reading recent posts on pain relief, it seems we are all being given different advice on suitable medications that are liver friendly. I was recently prescribed codeine, only to find on the pamphlet it says not to be taken if you have chronic liver disease.I stopped them immediately. I

7.5mg might not be enough
It's almost 4 weeks since I dropped to 7.5 x 7 from 7.5 x 4. I posted a few weeks back about aches and pains and can't find the post. I am more and more thinking my pains are PMR. Yesterday and today I am not keeping on top of it and over last 10 days have taken the last of my codeine stash x once per
