cortisol blood test tips?
Any suggestions to adhere to for ‘9 am cortisol’ blood test being done at 7.40 tomorrow? I believe it is regarded as Addison’s or not, and nothing in between, so is there nothing that can be suggested to Gp if low but not too low? Did a private saliva test test some years ago now( pre covid) it was

Rant about Gp lowering levo.prescription!
After a ‘we will have to agree to disagree’ face to face appointment with GP 7 weeks ago the next day he sneakily changed my levothyroxine prescription from 100 to 75 mcg, knowing full well the earliest I would able to speak to him( or another Gp) on the phone to argue my case/ complain would be 3+weeks

TSH a little high, Ft3 low?
Hi. Here are my latest results. My cholesterol is also a little high which I believe may indicate my thyroid may be a little undermedicated. I'm on 125mcg Levothyroxine. I stopped T3 late last year as I was having terrible sleep with night sweats at the time (I was also on the T3 withdrawal clinic).

Hi all- Hypothyroid Newbie
After suffering from pretty much of all HypoT symptoms for last 6 years i came across the Ray Pest articles and Broda Barnes work. Does anyone else have experience of self treating themselves with NDT (e.g Metavive or such like) or perhaps point me to relavent threads on this forum. My waking basal

advice on most recent Thyroid bloods as seeing Endo in 1/10/24
Hi I was getting my thyroid checked as I had a 24 hr ecg and the report suggested it, I think due to palpitations /missed beats. Also seeing Endo 1/10 so she usually asks if I’d get them checked . Here goes TSH 3.80. Range 0.30-4.50 FT4 14.9 “ 11.0-22.0 FT3. 3.5.

Why would my Alk Phos go up after just starting urso?
Hi All, I have a question and wondered if anyone had an answer to if they had a similar experience. I just started taking Urso and have been on it now close to a month my recent blood work shows that my Alk Phos has increased rather than decreased. While I know it may take awhile for Urso to potentially

Underactive thyroid and Pine pollen
Hi I have had an underactive for almost 3 years now and I take Eltroxin 75mcg mon-fri and 50mcg sat-sun but have not seen any results with weight loss. I am still fatigued and still picking up weight, almost 30kg's in 3 years which is not helpful. My blood test results come back normal so I am not sure

Positive outcome!
I had a review last week regarding my thyroid medication. The Dr refused to increase T4 due to suppressed TSH, despite my FT3 & FT4 being low in range. 'Guidelines' were mentioned.I agreed to an endo appointment, but pointed out the one I had in 2021 where he said 'if she feels well, leave her alone

is tsh too low? rt3 too high? Please help
I recently ran my thyroid labs and I got low TSH and high rT3. Trying to figure out future dosing. I have been on levothyroxine for Hashimoto's at 75mcg + 1/2 pill of Thyroid-S per day for 3 years feeling pretty well with no scores much out of the ordinary. But, about 5 months ago, I

Time if day for taking medicine
I want to try taking medicine at night. Is natural thyroid or thyroxin likely to interfere with sleep?I'm completely shattered all the time apart from waking due to work stress so I doubt I would notice a small effect.

Impaired Sensitivity to Thyroid Hormones Associated with Central Obesity in Euthyroid Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus with Overweight & Obesity
A paper of possible interest. But it could be turned round and made YOUR FAULT for having impaired sensitivity. And dislike the language where high levels of TT3RI and TFQIFT3 are referred to as if they are real substances. Not that they are indexes based on measurements. Diabetes Metab

Next Endo Meeting, T3...
I am going to ask my Endocrinologist for a trial of T3 at my next meeting, as it was suggested by them at my last meeting that if my last dose change didn't help, they would recommend a trial on the basis of significant persistent symptoms. What should I know about this, and what questions are wise

Seeking help on latest test results
Hi, I have just had my third set of blood tests done, following an increase to 100mg levothyroxin 8 weeks ago. My results are interesting. My (private) GP had a suspicion after my first lot of results (8 weeks on 50mg levothyroxin) that I may not be converting T4 to T3 well, and I think these results

NHS Testing
Hi - those of use lucky enough to be prescribed T3 on the NHS: Does your endocrinologist test T3 and T4 or just TSH? I know too many just rely on TSH but to the extent that they don’t even test T3 or T4 when you’re on Liothyronine? I had a monitoring test that seems to only have been TSH. I will

Taking carbimazole and ndt at the same time
I posted before with Radioiodine treatment, my last blood results in June were TSH <0.02mU/L (0.30-4.50), T4 13.4pmol/L (11-22), T3 5.3pmol/L (3.1-6.8). I had blood taken on August 21st and am struggling to get the results from the endo, I received a letter from them saying they had got the blood

Leading endos' replies to my question: "Can problems be caused by a suppressed TSH or high/over range T4/T3?"
So many of us are told by doctors that a very low/suppressed TSH will probably cause AFib or osteoporosis, and we have our dose reduced. We maintain that it's a high/over range T4 and T3 that may do that, not the TSH level. We say that as long as T4 and T3 are well within their reference ranges, we

Latest Results - Advice needed please
I had a blood test last week on the NHS and my results are back (shown above). I don't know the difference between pmol/L and ng/L so the Folate Serum and vitamin B12 results means very little to me. There were increases in: Vitamin D Free T3 Free T4 There were decreases in: Ferritin TSH There
