Partner in ICU for 20 days after severe burns, septic shock, SIRS and ARDS
Seems like it wasnt a septic shock after all, just a SIRS but a weird one, as CT of organs show no lesions on liver, pancreas, kidneys or other organs except lungs which are moderately affected by the inhalation injury so the necrotic tissue appeared few times (they removed it by
bronchoscopy
).

Bronchoscopy ... anyone had one?
Hi all I have just had a call from the chest clinic at my local hospital wanting me to go for a
bronchoscopy
next week. I’m really nervous as I’ve never had one before and not sure I want them to do it - is this a normal procedure for PCD patients?

Waiting for Diagnosis
The consultant wants an urgent CT scan, blood tests and
bronchoscopy
but said it was unlikely to be COPD or cancer (I did smoke, haven't for 15 years). Waiting for the tests, I'm making myself so anxious thinking that its progressive lung disease. Follow up appointment isn't for 2 months.

Inexplicable worsening breathlessness....?
In September 2017 - I had a massive bleed from my lungs whilst I was driving and was hospitalised for 4 days - CT scan showed a lot of blood in the lungs but a
bronchoscopy
in November 2017 showed little deterioration and no current or latent infection - e.g. TB.

Desperately looking for answers, extremely anxious. Please help. Chest infection or lung cancer?
Mid Dec 2017 - had a
bronchoscopy
where no abnormality has been seen. BAL (sputum) collected for analysis – it’s been 6 weeks or so and no growth seen.

Very weird bronchiectasis at a young age
He performed
bronchoscopy
, washed my lungs. It turned out my case was very mild and, in his opinion, usually mild cylindrical bronchiectasis does not spread. I manage to stop using any medicine and for some time my health was just perfect.

Tongue biopsy, Liver Scan, Bronchoscopy tests in 2 week period. Pain is more than I can bear.
I had a tongue biopsy on Friday last week. The pain afterwards has been excruciating. I cannot eat, drink, swallow and even talk clearly. I am also having a liver ultrasound next Saturday. Turns out my tongue biopsy area is infected and it may be a while before I can pick up my life again.

he was not sure about the asthma stuff so he redirect me to a pulmo that, obviously, order a spirometry (turns out perfect), another methacholine challenge (negative again), allergy tests (also negative) and, drum roll, a

EXCESSIVE DYNAMIC AIRWAY COLLAPSE
I had a
bronchoscopy
last December, to be told that I had EDAC (excessive dynamic airway collapse). I have had no follow up meetings with the Thoracic doctor, as he said there was nothing to do. I was just told to keep my weight down, and look it up on the internet.

Living with PCD
By 6th grade I had my first
Bronchoscopy
and was later that month diagnosed with SCD. I later went on to have 3 bronchoscopy's, 2 sinus surgeries, a tonsillectomy, and adenoid removal. My freshman year of high school I had the smallest wheeze in my lungs, which was not uncommon for me.

Road to a BMT... oops just got there (Day+20)
Mark had been dealing with an infection and antibiotics were helping but the fever kept coming back - he went through an invasive test called a
bronchoscopy
to get a sample from his lungs so we could culture and know EXACTLY what this infection is.

Warmer days ahead
Thursday is the day I go for the
bronchoscopy
and thank God it will be sunny and actually warm here in Vancouver. A reprieve from all the rain we have had this past week. I may save myself $20 and take a bus over... then again at 7 am? No I will pay the price most likely. A wee sleep in!

Not sure if I have asthma or not?
He subsequently referred me for a CT scan and carried out a
bronchoscopy
which, I understand, made it clear that my airways were inflamed. I was prescribed oral steroids which I found to be immensely helpful. I was also prescribed inhaled steroids which I have used ever since.
