pneumonia in post kidney transplant patient
So sorry to read about your mother, sudsoma. I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but I'm sure someone will be along soon who has had a bronchoscopy. You are both in my thoughts and prayers.
Hello sudsoma .
I am very sorry to hear about your mother. Since post transplant immunosuppressive drugs are so potent, it is extremely easy to catch all kinds of infections and this can occur anywhere in the body, not just the transplanted organs. This is especially prevalent during the first year or so after transplant when the immune system is extremely incapacitated by the medication.
I think it is impossible for any of us here to be able to tell you why your mother got pneumonia, but I do know that post transplant is a very delicate time for the patient.
I really hope your mother is able to recover her strength and health.
My thoughts are with you and your family.

Thanks for your prayers, actually till now which organism causing this pneumonia is not identified, so Doctors using wide spectrum of antibiotics and fungi medications. Most of the pneumonia cases test results shows the organisms but unluckily it's not identified for my mother. I am just looking if anyone knows like this cases and guidense. As of now medication is going on without knowing which bacteria or fungi. Let's hope my mother responds soon.
