bronchoscopy and CT of chest for 2yr old
They now want to do a
bronchoscopy
and CT of chest under anaesthetic at the same time (audiology have suggested they bung in some grommits at the same time to get value for money out of the aneathetist!).

New- Son recovering from severe acute intractable asthma requiring ventilation and dnase
His condition deteriorated rapidly and a retrieval team was sent from St Thomas and he was taken to their PICu where he was intubated, ventilated, had a
bronchoscopy
and was given the drug Dnase directly into his lungs. He thankfully turned the corner after 3 days in PICU.

Progress despite everything
He had a
bronchoscopy
several years ago and it was then that the azithromycin was added in.

So confused! Please help!
Just got the final result through from Maddies
bronchoscopy
. It shows aspirated food on her lungs! She had a PH study done a few months ago which showed no reflux so why now does it show aspirated food on lungs?

What comes next?
My 4 year old daughter had a bronchial lavage and a
bronchoscopy
this past week. This is her second one. According to our consultant's at Addenbrookes and Prof Bush from the RBH, she is on the maximum doses of all of her medications and she is nowhere near under control.

Scared!
Then today I got a call from the hospital saying she has been booked in for
bronchoscopy
and ct scan, both under general anaesthetic, next Tuesday! I'm scared! Not only is she my baby, aged just 2, she's got poorly lungs, her SATs never get above 92, even when well.

Persistent cough + shortness of breath
I have positive results for histamine challenge and
bronchoscopy
shows inflammation in my airways. My consultant prescribed Symbicort (2 puffs twice a day) which I have been using for 10 weeks.

Oral steroids
At my last appt with the consultant, he didn't agree with me that steroids help (partly because from a
bronchoscopy
, my airways showed no sign of inflammation.) He did say they are just stimulating my system. Has anyone heard of this? He instead added ventolin in a nebuliser 3 times a day to try.

Bronchoscopy - is this normal?
I had the above last Thurs and a lavage was carried out and biopsies taken. Ever since I have needed nebuliser every few hours. Chest feels tight and asthma very grumpy. I am not sure if this is normal and really could use some advice. When will it stop or should I call Consultant in the morning

Bronchoscopy
Going to have a
bronchoscopy
on Thursday. I know this isn't a usual test for asthma so most people on here probably won't have had one (they're puzzled and looking for other stuff with me), but if anyone has, anything that's useful to know?

Breathlessness anyone?
My 2 year old has Brittle Asthma (confirmed by
bronchoscopy
) and can only walk about 100 yards on average and then has to stop as she is out of breath. Her normal SATs when she is well, are 94!! We have never seen them higher unless she is on oxygen! Anyone else?

Vocal Cord Dysfunction
They did a
bronchoscopy
and found that I might have vocal cord dysfunction as my vocal cords were apprently unusually close together and so restricting my windpipe. However this is only a ? as I was zonked out underr general anasthetic as I was coughhing too much under local.

So confused and frustrated! What next!!
Then was found to have food in her lungs on
bronchoscopy
(quite a shock to say the least!). She then had a test and was found to have an abnormal swallow so breathes food into her lungs.
