COPD diagnosis at 35
The subsequent
bronchoscopy
revealed that I had some airflow restriction, and the spirometry gave me a lung age of 48 (my GP says this isn't done anymore). After more severe coughing this winter I returned to the GP upon which the diagnosis was made.

APS and lung inflammation
I've been off warfarin, taking Lovenox injections, and was scheduled for
bronchoscopy
and lung biopsy, but I had a high def CT scan a day before procedure and my lungs had improved about 90% from hospital scan in October.

News puts son in a panic!
He is still in hospital being treated for an infection, which has now moved onto his chest it got to the stage that he is on O2 but they wanted a
bronchoscopy
as the CT scan showed the infection had spread on his lungs. They also did a wash and took samples from his lungs.

Tension Pneumonthorax
3 weeks ago I went to have a
bronchoscopy
and they took a sample off my right lung and air brushed my left and my left lung collapsed I have been told it might be because the lung had a lot of emphysema so im waiting to have a scan on my lungs.

My Mom has Aspergillosis
They did a
bronchoscopy
with an ultrasound and a couple of other tests where they took fluid to culture from her lungs. We were told from the pathology reports she did not have Cancer she has this fungus in her lungs which is causing all her breathing problems. We need a local support group.

Suspected Bronchiolitis Obliterans - I'm terrified
In April I went for my routine yearly
bronchoscopy
. Nothing has changed on CT scans and X -rays for 2 years. The scope found no trace of bacterial/fungal infection but I'm losing lung function at a steady pace. This was news to me - he never told me this before.

Re-posted for "Tgirl.
After a
Bronchoscopy
and biopsy he said that I had 'BOOP' a type of pneumonia that no longer can be treated with antibiotics, only Steroids. Luckily my lungs do NOT have scar tissue and I should have a full recovery in time. This could take 6 months or more.

Fungus in the lungs..Aspergillus
This one I have does not seem to be the allergic type but the mycelium have been found in the water washed from my
bronchoscopy
. I have been working with cranio sacral and controlled breathing( Buteyko) and an putting on weight and regaining energy. I started doing that before the diagnosis.

Sedation
I have read up on it all and think I might be asked to have a
Bronchoscopy
which I don't really want to have. I am going to ask for sedation and am wondering if any of you can tell me what that would involve.

More tests
I have just had a PET scan and am to have a rigid
bronchoscopy
to see if surgery might be an option now that the tumour has shrunk back from my trachea. The medical care is great but it is very disappointing to find myself going through tests again after such a short time.

Having test
She told me that they were going to perform a
bronchoscopy
(had this Tuesday)have to have another full body scan next Tuesday but didn't think they would see much because of these dots being so deep to the back of my lungs and that I would probably need key hole surgery to take a sample from my lung

What treatments for Lung Cancer?
He had a Mediastinoscopy/
bronchoscopy
to reveal the cancer was in the three lymph nodes that he had removed. This was over 6 weeks ago. They state its inoperable and incurable. He is due to start chemotherapy this week.

Subglottic Stenosis: positive P ANCA screen, Wegeners / GPA Diagnotic indicators, crusty nose, cyclophosphamide.
I have no systemic symptoms,
bronchoscopy
, gastroscopy, biopsy, kidneys, CT scan and all other bloods are negative for Vasculitis or infection, and I generally feel well and healthy.

It never rains but it (s)pores
So the nurse is accessing my hospital records and says suddenly that they did some microbiology when I had a
bronchoscopy
in October to see why the valve implants didn't work and they found a ..fungus! Aspergillus Fumigatus.
