Hi,

Just wondered if anyone has had to do one of these? Am being referred for one to investigate brittle asthma issues .....along with a bronchoscopy eek! Much sedation will be needed there!

Thanks.

Yes, it was a short cycle test, where heart rate was monitored etc, and arterial blood gas was measured. This latter procedure (taking blood from artery in the wrist) is not pleasant, but is very quick (there will be a bit of bruising after). I haven't had a bronchoscopy, and like you would need a bit of calming help! Good luck with both. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your reply :-)

I'm very used to the blood gas test so at least I know what that's all about!!

Just realised I didn't update this.

I didn't ever have the CPET - the bronchoscopy showed infection driven asthma (backed up by ny history and blood results over time) so the consultant left the cardio test. So at least I escaped that!
