Asthma or Bronchiectatis?
Hi, I'm new to the community and wondered if anyone else has had a similar problem with their diagnosis. At the age of 50 I was diagnosed with mature onset asthma which proved very difficult to control. I have tried a number of different inhalers and I'm currently on Symbicort 200/6 and Spiriva. I

Possible lung infection???
Well after a rollercoaster of emotions over the last couple of weeks, lung lesions, probably a new primary lung cancer and then a possible infection, I’m now on steroids and high dose antibiotics. Hoping and praying that this clears whatever is on my lung. Feeling strange on the tabs to say the least

cardiac arrest and brain injury - recovery
Hi, I am new here. My brother had cardiac arrest on July 25, and he is in ICU ever since. He was 19 days in coma, GCS 4, than raised to 5, he had no reflexes, no reaction to whatsoever, no pupil reaction or reaction to pain stimuli. Doctors were only saying to us that "miracles can happen, and that

Have you moved to help your asthma?
My husband and I are trying to figure out what to do now that wildfire smoke brings asthma attacks for me. He has two more years until he retires and we can move near the ocean, where the air tends to be cleaner. Two years of suffering in the summers is hard to contemplate. I suspect that might worsen

Who to see.....?
So, I’ve decided it’s time to pay to see an asthma specialist to finally confirm or deny that I have asthma. Spiro says not... most doctors say no . 1 says yes and I have to avoid seeing her when I’m ill as she refuses anti b’s snd insists it’s asthma, even though I’ve ended up in a&e with pneumonia

Reverse an Asthma Flare?
I'm wondering if anyone has successfully reversed an asthma flare and what steps you took to do so. Wildfire smoke has worsened my normally-mild asthma. I have a lot to learn about dealing with this condition. We purchased an air conditioner but need to check that the filter works against smoke. A particulate

Still coughing
I have
asthma
but it’s not
brittle
. I’m on Seretide 250. Montelukast gives me nightmares. Relvar made me cough more. Fostair made me crazy. I have a few chest infections and tend to take pred/anti biotics 4-5 times a year. The consultant shrugs and says asthmatics cough. He says I’m fit.

Asthma and Bed Wetting - Kid
Hi My son has asthma, he’s 9 and has been using inhalers since he was 6 and displayed early symptoms of asthma from even younger. He’s also a bed wetter and has never been reliably dry at night at all. He does have some days being better than others and it has improved over the years. I’m wondering

breathing test to see how I manage without my asthma meds
I have quite bad asthma which is being treated by a hospital consultant following flu I had last year which caused a serious asthma exacerbation, and had a breathing test today (I think it was a spirometry) as my consultant wants to see how I manage without my inhalers (not very well). My consultant
