Hi..

Sinus rinse so you get a clear nose and nasal mucus doesn’t go down your chest at night.

Steroids maybe..follow your action plan, increase your bronchodilators like your reliever if you are breathless, it will also help to bring up the mucus..

Stay hydrated.. drink a lot of fluids

Try lozenges and hot drinks like thyme and eucalyptus herbal tea with honey

Take steamy showers and use a humidifier

Remove anything which would trigger a cough..like perfume or chemical house products

If the cough last for over 2 weeks ask for a chest xray.

Take care x

Hello Sittontonya

My respiratory nurse put me on montelukast 10mg when I was coughing through night and congested; this helped me sleep and I also felt better in the mornings. I don’t know how they work; only that they do!

Thanks

mmm you are using pain relief, deep heat and deep freeze spray on your nose chest and feet ! I personally would say that is not the correct use of Mentholatum or to treat the symptoms you are experiencing.

Discuss your symptoms with your doctor and let him or her know how you are treating your symptoms I am sure the doctor will prescribe more appropriate medications for you.

In addition Happylondon has give some good tips.

Hope you get some prescribed meds that relieve your symptoms.

Your asthma is not well controlled. Make an appointment to see your respiratory doctor or nurse. Sounds like you need further investigations plus adjustment of medication. Monitor your peak flow two or three times a day prior to the appointment. If you don't have a book in which to record it, ask at your surgery and they should be able to give you one.

Hi, try your GP for some Carbocisteine tablets together with a little widget from clement- clarke.com. If you "huff" into the widget it helps to bring up the mucus

and slows down the coughing. Also ask GP about acapella "huffing gadget" it all helps with mucus.

I have a small jar of Vicks next to bed and if I wake up coughing, etc. I dab a little under nose and everything is back to normal.
