Venetoclax for dummies
Venetoclax owes its origin to a lady named Eliza Hall, I bet AussieNeil has heard of her. Eliza was a lady from Melbourne Australia who married an Englishman named Walter Hall in 1874. Walter Hall and his two brothers arrived almost penniless in Australia in 1852, coming from England to search for

Flydoggy has flown, plant medicine journeys helped so much in our last year with him...so much.
Hello, I am Flydoggy's wife. My beautiful and amazing man crossed over on June 23rd at 4am, after an 8 1/2 year battle with this awful disease. He left calmly and peacefully, wrapped in his family. I am so sad that this cancer took him at 64 yrs old, he was vibrant and strong really, almost to the end

Feeling scared
Hi everyone. I’m feeling kinda crappy today. I was on ibrance and fulvestrant for almost a year and a half. I had to switch after progression to Everolimus and Exemestane. It’s been almost 2 months and my tumor markers have continued to rise. I saw the oncologist today who was in agreement that

I ordered a repeat prescription on 28th June, both with the GP and my regular pharmacist. As of today, I have still not received it and other prescription were initially delayed by many days. A palliative nurse called on Monday 03rd July to see how I was getting on with the medicines she has recommended

Never thought that I would be writing this post
After over 6 years of being in remission, I was feeling bloated after eating and ended up seeing my GP and then my oncologist later this month. My oncologist sent me for a CT scan and I am supposed to discuss the results on Tuesday. In the meantime today, I went to the hospital because I felt constipated

Hubby diagnosed with Bowel Cancer today
My hubby had a colonoscopy today. They had to stop part way as they found a huge tumour! They told us he has bowel cancer. They said he will be referred to colorectal MDT to plan treatment but does anyone know how long will this take? No further appointments made yet. Sorry if this seems impatient

Update on hubby
Partner had his colonoscopy today and they gave confirmed he has Bowel cancer now too. How this hasn't been picked up earlier after all tests he's had I really don't know! But how will this affect his liver? Nobody has mentioned his liver since the tumour was found, they were talking about referring

I just don't know...
As some here know, at the beginning of the year I had irradiation of my neck and upper back (cervical spine and upper thoracic spine). It was awful and I ended up in the emergency department for 3 days while they got my throat open enough for me to swallow. Horrible not to be able to swallow well for

Inspiration
This is a photo of me after 9 months on ADT, age 70. I’ve always tried to stay in good shape. Jack LaLane inspired me as a kid in the early 1960’s. Later inspired by Larry Scott, Arnold, Lou and others. I built muscle naturally, no steroids. As my testosterone naturally decreased in my late 50’

hi. I had a cat scan last Friday because of pain in lower right back but it didn’t show anything. Is cat scans with contrast accurate. The pain is so bad I don’t know what to do. The doctor said there was no tumor in back. Thanks so much. Marianne

Ravid Straussman & the Tumor Biome
I was reading an article about the tumor biome, and how bacteria & fungi may have a role in treatment resistance. I thought it might be interesting to review the work of Ravid Straussman at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel [1]. [2] (2017): Growing evidence suggests that microbes can

Hi from the UK
I’ve recently been diagnosed with Lobular BC in the right side, will be going for lumpectomy & node removal next week. I’m here to learn more about LBC and what to watch for in the future, plus make sure my cancer team are ‘on the ball’ with up to date lobular treatments etc. They’ve already told

Soreness
Hello I have been on Letrozole for a year next month and I had a zometa infusion and radiation. But my question is its it normal for my under arm and scar tissue and my Breast to get sore. Also where the lymphnodes were removed. And does doing house work adjatate that area. I'm so confused

radiation proctitis follow up
Saw my GI doc about my persistent bleeding and clots, now accompanied by mucus, urgency, and irregular bm’s. He has scheduled another colonoscopy next week to rule out any other source of my issues. At the same time he will do Radio Frequency Ablation assuming no other source of symptoms is found.

'Palliative Chemotherapy'
Following first reccurence after 11 months remission mum started carbo caelyx 2 weeks ago. She has just received a letter saying she is now aware treatment is palliative. She is beside herself and now I fear it's going to be a self fulfilled prophecy. Why must they send these letters.
