Clinical trials in Canada for my wife with stage 4 Breast cancer with bone metastatic
I see no one has responded to you yet. Could you provide some more info on your wife's MBC? And why you think Clinical trails should be in the mix at this time. What has been done so far to manage her MBC to bone only? On this site we want to help, perhaps a little more info would be helpful. She is blessed to have a husband asking these questions, may God bless your family🙏❤️
Hi, the best source would be your oncologist who knows the details if your wife’s condition (mutations, tumor burden, other comorbidities).
If you want to do the search yourself, pls check clinicaltrials.com.
This is the US site that by regulations contains all information about all ongoing and completed clinical trials.
Wishing your wife all the best!
Your oncologist should offer information about clinical trials if she/he feels that is appropriate. I was offered one when I was first diagnosed with MBC, but I did not go on it as I was just trying to process everything this diagnosis would mean for me. I would have had to do scans every 2 months and I did not like that idea. My doctor ended up putting me on Ibrance and Letrozole and I have done well with that combo for over 2 1/2 years. My MBC has been bone only, too. Sending hugs and prayers to you and your wife.
I would think there is a medicine that would work before going for a trial. I thought trials were more of a last resort?
it’s not necessarily in clinical trials and I’m not familiar w Canada clinics but I would have her also look into RFA or radio frequency ablation.
We have it here in the states and it’s been FDA approved, according to UCLA doctors. My oncologist hasn’t approved it for me because he thinks it’s not approved but my online searching has shown otherwise; many doctors are using it and have been for many years.
It’s specifically for tumors in the spine or places where it’s metastasized and / or resistant to chemo and radiation.
Essentially it’s a safe and effective way to blast tumors using radio frequency.
Hello! I’m lucky enough to live near a big health provider.. Dartmouth Hitchcock at Lebanon NH. Dr. Mary Chamberlain is a highly recognized clinician who is doing trials right now on this very kind of MBC to the bones. If you can connect it may be just right for you. Here’s the link

. Her trials have to do with delivering radium 223 dichloride to the affected areas . Best wishes!
