Could Morphine accelerate prostate cancer progression?
I was looking up wether morphine can activate mast cells and found the following: “We demonstrate that morphine does not influence cancer initiation, but it stimulates the progression of spontaneously developed

tumours
and shortens the survival of tumour-bearing mice.

update after 2 yrs on Lynparza and looking for suggestions...
Hello, just wanted to provide an update after meeting my care team today after completing 2 years on Lynparza (after chemo and debulking surgery for hgs stg3b OC) 1. Ca125 very low, that's good. Rest blood parameters are as usual just below normal reference ranges (Rbc, wbc etc; platelets are good though

Rarely post, but try to read as often as I can. Hope to get the advice based on your experience. Based on my scans it looks that I have progression. New bone mets. TM are trending higher, but not significant. No mutations. I’m in US. I’m on palbo+letrozole for almost 4 years, but of course not

Stage 3 Breast Cancer
I discovered a lump in my breast, had an MRI, biopsy, several scans and was diagnosed with stage 3C breast cancer. Started Anastrazole and Ibrance. After 2 weeks was taken off the Ibrance because wbc dropped too low. After 2 weeks off my wbc was still too low so am hoping to start a lower dose of

Side Effects of Herceptin and Perjeta
I had 1.5 cm local, node negative breast cancer recurrence 3.3 years after my first breast cancer diagnosis. HER2+ PR+ ER+( triple positive). I opted not to have Chemo, but did have targeted therapy for the HER2+ cancer, Herceptin and Perjeta subcutaneous injections for a year. The worst constant side

Importance of CLL Specialist
This excellent study was just published. Why should you get a CLL specialist? My community oncologist gave me a fish and a flow test and told me that I wouldn’t need treatment for 3-5 years. He didn’t test for IGVH and didn’t know that there is a specific TP53 test. My CLL specialist tested for 500 mutations

Medicare- under 65
Good Morning Everyone, I am under 65 and will be eligible for Medicare in a few short months. I never thought I would get a Medicare card at the age of 51. Anyone out there under the age of 65 (taking Ibrance and Letrozole with Zolodex injections) that would be willing to share the supplemental coverage

How's Remission?
Hi friends, it's been awhile since I've posted here. I've been in remission for 3 and a half years. First treatment was Ibrutinib for one year then Obintuzimab and Veneteclax for 2 years. Just to give you an idea of what my treatment was. So my question is, if you too have been in remission, besides

update on switching to digoxin from lopressor
Stopped digoxin this am and starting back on lopressor. bad heartburn and nausea just kept getting worse. Lots of hydrating and will explore ablation. Really felt sick on digoxin. Although don't feel generally great this was really not a good experience.

Stage 1 Breast Cancer - Post Surgery Treatment
I was detected with stage 1 triple positive breast cancer. The surgery was done earlier this month and the cancer calcification (16mm) were removed. Post surgery biopsy results suggests that the calcification (cancer cells) were completed removed, the margins around it tested negative and the lymph node

New DX
I am a 76 yo woman. I was DX in 2016 and was in a trial at MD Anderson from 2017-2019. I achieved UMRD at the end of the trial of Ibrutinib and Venetoclax. I remained in total remission until my first visit after my husband died from Alzheimer’s in Oct 2021. Since then it’s been downhill. Dr Wierda
